Job Description

Basic Purpose

This position requires workers to possess basic knowledge of and perform some of the duties of a professional, but in a supportive capacity. The assignments consist of a wide variety of specific support functions that are of a highly specialized nature requiring knowledge of a specific area(s).  Under direction of the Chief Quality Officer, the Coordinator coordinates and monitors the activities of the Quality Department.

Typical Functions


  • Resolve referrals from other departments.

  • Coordinates assigned activities with individuals or units outside the work area.


  • Makes outbound calls for calling campaigns, as needed.

  • Manage Outlook Calendar of Chief Quality Officer and other department directors/managers as needed.

  • Coordinates meeting series invites for internal Quality department meetings and one-to-one meetings for all direct reports for the Chief Quality Officer.

  • Update and maintain a variety of reports on Quality department activities, such as monthly productivity reports.


  • Assists in the planning and assignment of departmental activities.

  • Assists in ordering of staff supplies


  • Coordinates travel and compiles travel expense reports for department members. Assists in other travel related activities as requested.

  • Monitors and responds to phone and email requests.

  • Develops, implements, and makes improvements to the coordination of various quality improvement activities.

  • Attends and participates in agency meetings as requested by the directors. Handles all scheduling of unit meetings, including staff meetings, management team meetings or any other meetings as needed. Coordinates staff meeting agendas and acts as the meeting Secretary of record.

  • Assists Quality department, directors/managers with special projects.

  • Other duties may be assigned.

Education and Experience


  • Associate’s degree AND

  • Eighteen (18) months of experience working with providers, contracting or network development and maintenance, and direct knowledge of health care delivery systems OR

  • An equivalent combination of education and experience totaling three and a half years. 

Preference may be given to candidates with:


  • SoonerCare program experience

  • Advanced knowledge of and experience with Microsoft Excel and Word.

  • Knowledge of Medicaid policies and procedures

Special Requirements

Physical Demands:


  • Must be able to remain sitting for prolonged periods at a desk and working on a computer.

  • Must be able to move or lift up to 15 pounds at various times.

Work Environment:

  • The office work environment includes regular exposure to general office equipment such as computer equipment, phones, and copy machines.
