Position Summary:

The job profile for this position isSoftware Engineer Advisor,which is a Band4 Senior Contributor Career Track Role.

Cigna, a leading Health Services company, is looking for an exceptional Full Stack Software Engineer in our Core Systems Organization. In this role you will be coding, testing and deploying Services using REST APIs connecting to a variety of technologies.

In this role you will have the unique opportunity to design, develop, and deploy applications and features that will directly impact Cigna's bottom line, ultimately providing better and more affordable healthcare for our customers. Our team uses a variety of technologies including the latest web frameworks and mainframe. You will have the opportunity to build state-of-the-art technology that is scalable and robust, utilizing cloud infrastructure, and full automation. Key Responsibilities:


  • Support scrum team by coding, testing and implement solutions that support business needs

  • Integrate both custom developed and package based solutions in a cloud environment

  • Support production implementation activities including advanced troubleshooting and application debugging

Required Experience/Qualifications


  • Experience on an Agile team using Scrum or Kanban

  • Experience in the following:

    • 2+ years in Golang or Python experience.

    • 6+ years of software development experience in any of the following : Java, Java Scripting and Object Oriented languages, RESTful/API services, micro-services.

    • Experience with messaging or event streaming technologies(RabbitMQ/Kafka).

    • Experience in design, develop, and deploy modular cloud-based systems in AWS .

    • Database engineering experience (RDS, Redshift, or DynamoDB)

    • Test Driven Design (TDD) and unit testing as part of software development using packages NUnit, JUnit, PyUnit, Ansible, etc.

    • CI/CD environment (Jenkins/Ansible)

    • Ability to start with strategy and then create, test and deploy our client and patient applications.

    • Experience working in an Agile environment, partnering with teams across the organization to craft exceptional applications -with the ultimate goal of improving health outcomes for the 100 million people we serve.

    • Experience mentoring and leading teams of developers.

    • Collaborate with Product, Design, and Business stakeholders to plan and prioritize new feature development.

    • Document newly implemented technologies and application functionality.

  • Legacy technologies including: Mainframe DB2, IMS

  • AWS Solution Architect Certification / AWS Developer Certification.

For this position, we anticipate offering an annual salary of 100,500 - 167,500 USD / yearly, depending on relevant factors, including experience and geographic location.

This role is also anticipated to be eligible to participate in an annual bonus plan.
