Job Description:

As a Quality Engineer, you play an essential role in conducting quality engineering activities for a global power supply organization. Candidate should have a strong background with electronic assembly manufacturing. Candidate will conduct various qualification activities for global electronic assembly suppliers. Candidate will also conduct electronic assembly manufacturing process and product failure analysis for global suppliers.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES, RESPONSIBILITIES & AUTHORITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.


  • Assist Quality Engineering with data analysis, report writing of electronic products.

  • Perform qualification activities on new and existing products (power supplies) including following evaluation plans and first article inspection of assemblies & components.

  • Interface with global manufacturing facility on electronic assemblies and suppliers on components to research Quality problems and manage Quality standards.

  • Conduct Quality related investigations of electronic assembly manufacturing processes to determine root cause and corrective actions.

  • Support ISO 90001 compliance and QMS, including internal & certification audits, CARs, etc.    

  • Work with design engineering, manufacturing factory and customers to investigate failures on returned units. Generate FA report and update RMA database.

  • Prepare and issue CARs, Risk Assessments and Quality HOLDs for product & process related problems.

  • Review and approve change orders for quality.

  • Monitor and evaluate monthly PPM data from global manufacturing site for trends and address quality performance issues to maintain quality standards.

  • Support Product Environmental Compliance activities for RoHS, REACH, Conflict of Minerals, etc.

  • Interface with various internal departments and external customers to resolve Quality issues with products and processes.

 

QUALIFICATIONS FOR A QUALITY ENGINEER



  • Bachelor of Science degree (B. S.) or equivalent.




  • Five years minimum related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience in quality within the electronic assembly industry.



  • ISO training preferred.  

 

SALARY RANGE

The starting annual base pay for this role is between USD $60,000 and $80,000 for San Diego. The actual base is dependent upon many factors, such as: training, transferable skills, work experience, business needs, market demands. The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future. The role may also be eligible for variable bonus programs and benefits.
