Job Description:


  • Schnabel Engineering is currently seeking a Resident Engineer/Resident Project Representative for medium to long-term assignments at project sites throughout the United States.

Job Responsibilities:


  • Leads Schnabel’s on-site duties, including interface with Owner management, Schnabel office engineering staff, and Contractor.

  • Directs construction quality assurance activities, holds periodic meetings required by Contract Documents and produces required documentation such as daily field reports, photographic logs, and field testing logs.

  • Tracks physical progress, schedule, quality control and budget.

  • Reviews and provides input on change order negotiation, as required.

  • Implements project contract management software and document management system to effectively capture and organize all project reporting and correspondence.

  • Position may require travel and possible temporary relocation to project sites throughout the United States for extended periods.

Required Skills/Experience:


  • 5+ years of relevant experience in heavy civil or dam and water resource related construction.

  • Construction management experience on projects involving tunnels, dams, or other heavy civil components, with increasing level of responsibility.

  • Good written and verbal communication skills.

  • Demonstrated collaborative approach to construction management.

  • Ability to work in remote locations and on rough terrain.

Other Requirements:



  • Ability to work legally in the United States, currently and for the duration of the project.




  • Ability to pass a background check which may include criminal history, motor vehicle record and credit check.




  • Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screening.
