Summary/General Description of Responsibilities:
Performs troubleshooting, repair, overhaul, maintenance, and servicing of commercial, industrial, and residential style heating, ventilating, and air conditioning systems up to and 900 tons. Including and not limited to DX split systems, DX package system, air cooled and water-cooled chillers and systems, and chiller plant pumps, towers, and chiller plant controls.
Performs troubleshooting, manipulation, repair, and maintenance on Direct Digital Control (DDC) Systems
Keeps leadership appraised of unique situations and problems encountered.
Works with Engineers on planning future projects for HVAC enhancements and alterations
Specific Responsibilities:
Repairs, overhauls, maintains, and services commercial and residential heating, ventilating, and air conditioning systems. Troubleshoots and locates malfunctions, diagnoses problems, and determines appropriate repairs.
Adjusts, repairs, or replaces thermostats, sensors, thermistors, transducers, actuators, pressure sensors, relays, switches, and electrical wiring.
Repairs or replaces electric motors, compressors, fans, belts, and pulleys. Services and repairs evaporators, condensers, and receivers. Repacks valves, lubricates moving parts, replaces filters, and cleans coils.
Works from blueprints, drawings, models, or verbal and written instructions
Repairs components within a system to include transformers, motors, electrodes, solenoids, rheostats, and aqua stats.
Responds to the after normal working hours call outs as needed.
Trace and troubleshoot control systems to include wiring, connections, and end devices.
Test for refrigerant leaks by means of a halide leak detector, a liquid soap solution, or other approved methods.
Assists other trades and crafts personnel in their daily operations as well as works in coordination with EMCS technicians to ensure timely maintenance and repair.
Follows established safety procedures and utilize safety protective equipment and clothing pertaining to particular trades or skills.
Ensures proper housekeeping practices are observed.
Performs other tasks as necessary and incidental to the required work as directed.

Working efficiently and independently as well as in coordination with other tradesmen as needed.
Adherence to all safety and health rules and regulations
Work Conditions:
Work is performed indoors and outdoors. Outdoors work is subject to temperature extremes and inclement weather conditions.
Work hours are subject to change, with overtime work as needed.
Subject to hazards that may cause personal bodily harm; diseases, cuts, bruises, burns, common colds, influenza, dust odors and elevated noise levels.
Tasks may be performed on uneven, inclined, hand and soft-carpeted floors, cement structures and surfaces.
Authorities and Limitations of Authority:
As assigned.
Mandatory Job Requirements:
Type 3 certified
HVAC State License Class a Certified
Ten years’ verifiable experience as an HVAC technician
Extensive knowledge of trade tools and control systems
EPA Universal Refrigerant Certification
Be able to troubleshoot high and low voltage wiring circuits.
Have extensive knowledge in DDC controls and control system strategies.
Valid state driver’s license
Must have a Top-Secret Security Clearance
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Must have the ability to bend, lift, carry, sit, stand, drive, reach above, walk, push, pull, perform fine manipulation, and to use hands frequently.
Must be able to lift up to 30+ lbs frequently and team lift up to 60+ lbs occasionally.
Job Requirements, Preferred:
High school diploma
Sheet metal fabrication experience
NFPA 70E ARC Flash Training
Facilities lead engineer background.
