CNA for Endoscopy at Vancouver Clinic

Job Description:

Must be fully vaccinated for COVID-19 including two doses of a 2-dose series or a single dose of a 1-dose series prior to start date. Fully vaccinated is defined as 14 days post series completion date.

In this role you will participate in the team effort of the endoscopy suite facilitating patient flow. Will process, sterilize, and maintain reusable instruments. Primarily functions as a CNA and central sterile processing in the endoscopy suite.

Schedule: 4 x 10/hr shifts M-T-W-F (Thursday off). May need to occasionally start as early as 5:45 am.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS and RESPONSIBILITIES:


  • Coordinate patient flow into exam rooms within five minutes of known vacancy, gather pertinent data from the patient according to established TVC and department workflows and document this into the EMR.

  • Take vitals and document completely and accurately.

  • Prepare patient and instrumentation appropriate to exam. Instruct patient on disrobing, if applicable.

  • Cleans and sterilizes flexible endoscopes according to vendor recommendations and Clinic procedures.

  • Works with endoscopy staff and providers to prepare adequate instrumentation for daily procedures.

  • Assembles procedure instruments based on Clinic protocol.

  • Assists in trouble shooting problems with flexible endoscopes and equipment.

  • Monitors instruments for quality, good working order, and seeks repair or replacement.

  • Maintains current knowledge of disinfection/sterilization technique through continuing education.



OTHER DUTIES:

  • Stock and maintain adequate supplies, remove all expired supplies and medications and document in clinical logbook. Order materials and supplies for clinical area, per department needs.

  • Clean and sterilize exam rooms and equipment based on Clinic policies and Infection Control guidelines.

  • Document refrigerator and freezer temperatures each workday.

  • Maintain clinical log books.

  • Maintain MSDS binder per OSHA standards

  • Utilize appropriate equipment and supplies, such as safety needles and PPE, per OSHA standards and TVC policies.

  • Verifies patient identification and specimen labeling per policy.

SKILLS AND ABILITIES:


  • Ability to work independently and adhere to specific guidelines.

  • Detailed and procedure oriented.

  • Able to consistently demonstrate essential clinical competencies for this role and license/certification.

  • Ability to maintain patient privacy and confidentiality.

  • Ability to collaborate with other multi-disciplinary team members.

  • Ability to efficiently manage time and prioritize multiple tasks.

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:


  • High school diploma or equivalent required.

  • Active WA State NA-C certification in good standing.

  • Previous experience in central sterile services preferred.

  • Previous healthcare experience preferred.

  • Completion from a formal central sterile processing technology course preferred.

Pay Range:
$18.29 - $25.61
