We are seeking a full-time Design Engineer - Product Support in our Olathe, KS location. In this role, you will be responsible for designing and developing basic analog, digital and/or RF circuits, equipment, and/or systems.
Essential Functions
Support obsolescence and change management throughout product life cycle
Implement design changes to products in mass production to improve reliability or manufacturability
Perform root cause and corrective action on returned fielded product
Perform analysis and identify trends impacting reliability across multiple product lines
Improve manufacturability of existing products through continuous improvement strategies, such as improving first pass yield, improving test efficiency, etc.
Proficiently use troubleshooting and general EE tools (e.g. multimeters, oscilloscopes, network analyzers, spectrum analyzers, schematic design and PCB layout programs, etc.)
Thoroughly document analysis and findings in an organized manner
Effectively communicate information and recommendations with key stakeholders
Work efficiently across a multi-disciplinary team including design engineering, quality engineering reliability engineering, and manufacturing teams to deliver optimized solutions
Basic Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering OR an equivalent combination of education and experience
Excellent academics (cumulative GPA greater than or equal to 3.0 as a general rule)
Must demonstrate the capability to apply design standards and procedures to develop basic analog, digital and/or RF designs/circuits including simulations, schematics, PCB layouts and evaluation
Must demonstrate the ability to learn how to use and apply engineering tools specific to electrical engineering (e.g. multimeters, oscilloscopes, network analyzers, spectrum analyzers, schematic design and PCB layout programs, etc.)
Must demonstrate the capability to perform basic troubleshooting & debugging
Desired Qualifications
Previous work or internship experience with circuit design for consumer or aviation products
Understanding of reliability and process statistical analysis (FMEA, MTBF, first pass yield, Cp/Cpk)
Demonstrated knowledge of design impacts on manufacturability and reliability
