Job Summary

The Maintenance Technician is responsible for the preventative, corrective, and predictive maintenance of all power plant equipment utilizing safe job plans, written procedures, vendor manuals, and good engineering practices. This position is responsible for the proper function and maintenance of equipment at a Gas Plant for the Gas fleet. Responsible for promoting safe, effective, and reliable operation.

Job Description

**LEVEL OF POSITION WILL BE DETERMINED BY SKILLS/EXPERIENCE.

Job Responsibilities

• Strong mechanical repair/troubleshooting skills

• Functional knowledge of mechanical components (valves, pipe fittings, bearings, motors, gearboxes, pumps etc.).

• Ability to read and/or interpret mechanical, pneumatic and hydraulic blueprints or schematics.

• Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to communicate with all levels of the

organization both written and verbal; includes building relationships with team

lead and department Supervisor.

• Computer proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, job related internet research and ability to learn Maximo for daily usage.

• Strong organizational, prioritization, and problem solving skills with focus on

attention to detail.

• Work both in independently and in a team environment completing

objectives efficiently with a sense of respect and responsibility.

• Safely complete the physical tasks associated with the essential job

functions. These tasks include extensive climbing, walking, lifting, bending,

standing, carrying and squatting.

• Willing to work in non-ideal environments such as: hot, wet, and cold environment, confined spaces, working at heights, dusty/dirty and around chemicals.

• Understand, practice and enforce safe work practices related to the following:

respiratory protection, environmental, elevated work platforms, fall protection, control of hazardous energy (Lockout/Tagout procedure), fire protection systems, electrical safety, forklift/hoist operation, rigging, welding, cutting, confined space entry, PPE and employee Right to Know.

Education, Experience, & Skill Requirements

• Minimum High School Diploma or GED.




• Preferred 1-3 years of power or industrial plant mechanical maintenance experience




• Associate degree in a technical discipline could be substituted for work experience




• Must be able to pass the POSS/MASS test.




• Licenses/Certifications: Must possess a valid driver's license.
