Fitch Ratings is looking for an experienced Paralegal to provide administrative and operational support to the Global Chief Compliance Officer. The Compliance Department is comprised of 45 employees globally, and is charged with, among other activities, developing and implementing a program designed to ensure that Fitch Ratings complies with the laws, rules and regulations applicable to credit rating agencies on a global basis.

The successful candidate will have regular interaction with C-Suite executives, Board members and regulators, and as such would need to present themselves in a highly professional and polished manner. In addition, given the function of Compliance, this person would need to understand company policies and procedures, and the importance of trust, confidentiality, attention to detail and accuracy.

Job Description
The role will primarily involve managing the office of the Global Chief Compliance Officer, including travel, calendar, phones, expenses, and correspondence, along with assisting other New York-based Compliance Department staff with travel and expenses.

However, a large portion of the role will also involve more operational-type activities, including:
• Collecting, editing, summarizing and preparing management information and other types of reporting
• Editing and updating presentations to senior management
• Organizing international and local Board of Director meetings, including video conferences and planning sessions, along with weekly and monthly meetings with direct reports and other corporate senior management
• Coordinating meeting with regulators
• Routing individuals with Compliance-related issues to the appropriate staff or teams responsible for handling those issues
• Searching for, compiling and circulating news articles involving the regulation of credit rating agencies, or other relevant events
• Maintaining the Compliance Department intranet site and organizational charts
• Assisting in preparing and submitting regulatory filings

Position Requirements
• Ten years or more relevant work experience in a large corporate environment required. Financial services industry experience preferred. C-Suite executive assistant experience a strong plus
• Bachelors or associates degree
• Presents in person and by phone as highly professional, polished, positive and competent
• Very strong organizational skills and attention to detail
• A high degree of initiative, with a desire to excel at all tasks
• A proven ability to manage constantly changing priorities
• Intermediate-to-strong knowledge of MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
• Good oral and written communication and interpersonal skills
• Native-level proficiency of business English, grammar, spelling, and punctuation required
• Ability and willingness to learn new tasks and software as required
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relations with supervising personnel, coworkers, and business professionals

FOR NEW YORK AND CALIFORNIA ROLES ONLY: Expected base pay rates for the role will be between $80,000 and $95,000. Actual salaries will be determined on an individualized basis and may vary based on factors including but not limited to education, training, experience, past performance, and other job-related factors. Base pay is one part of Fitch's total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, discretionary bonuses, long-term incentives, and other benefits sponsored by Fitch.
