Main responsibilities (Other duties may be assigned, per business needs):
- Safety: exhibit safe work habits when working in manufacturing environments, following training. Lead Quality Team in conformance to Amsted Rail safety policies.
- Quality System: oversee the site QAP and its ongoing conformance with external standards, particularly the American Association of Railroads (AAR) requirements and customer expectations. Revise and manage the Quality Manual and key Level II quality documents.
- Internal Audit: ensure successful planning and execution of internal quality audits to ensure compliance with the quality system requirements. Train and coach auditors toward excellence.
- Metrology. Develop appropriate metrology expertise to ensure accurate assessment of manufactured parts to quality requirements. Ensure compliance of gage management program.
- Reports: Create, maintain, and publish quality reporting for supplier, internal and customer quality data in compliance with quality system requirements and continuous quality improvement.
- Continuous Improvement: Assist in implementation of new quality processes and technology. Identify and implement quality improvement ideas, with oversight. Participate in lean improvement activities as the quality subject-matter-expert, as assigned (5S Blitz, Kaizen, etc).

- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related technical discipline, with a concentration in Quality Assurance, preferred
- 3-5 Years of Experience in a Manufacturing Quality department setting
- Experience with ISO and/or AAR preferred

- Demonstrated ability of increasing responsibly in the area of Quality Assurance
- Strong knowledge of quality systems, supply chain quality, statistical methods and strategic planning and execution
- Dynamic people skills, motivational/team building skills
- Strong influence skills with experience in executing plans by working through people at all levels
