Job Description:

Advance your career in this Paint Process Engineering role. The Paint Process Engineer is to be the subject matter expert for all painting

chemical cleaning and printing processes to support our products. This role will support and maintain equipment

develop and audit processes

reduce environmental impact and monitor safety and performance of all equipment critical to cleaning

painting and printing for our products. This includes

spraywash process chemistry

equipment and conveyance; paint booth chemistry

fluid controls

paint application

booth safety and 6S processes and silkscreen ink chemistry

ink application

equipment processes and conveyance for all facilities.

Responsibilities


  • Provide daily support to plant operations such as troubleshooting critical machine breakdowns through root cause problem solving. Assume a support role in the paint

    chemical cleaning and silkscreen production operations.


  • Specifies and manages the installation and start-up of new equipment and processes. Drives implementation of new projects. Recommends and implements machine enhancements and upgrades to improve machine quality

    reliability and efficiency. May be involved in the design


    procurement and testing of new equipment and the development of processes and documentation.


  • Develops standard operating procedures and best practices on paint processes and trains operators

    maintenance technicians and engineers on standards.


  • Supports continuous improvement through rapid experiments and other Lean/Six Sigma tools
  • Directs outside contractors in performing electrical and mechanical projects and repairs
  • Manages vendor selection and ordering of supplies
  • Travels to all facilities to drive continuity

    best practices and standards for paint related processes



Desired Experience

  • Experience and knowledge of paint systems
  • Ability to program programmable logic controls (PLCs)

    human machine interfaces (HMIs) and other level one machine control devices


  • Knowledge of practical use of lean manufacturing concepts and techniques
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong problem solving skills
  • Ability to independently manage projects and manage relationships at all levels of the facility and with vendors and contractors.
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Detail oriented
  • Experience with high-volume manufacturing operations preferred
  • Strong communications skills - ability to communicate effectively with all levels of the business
  • Working knowledge of safety protocols/processes - NFPA

    NEC and OSHA
