POSITION SUMMARY

As a Shop Mechanic, you will maintain proper working order of all NexTier equipment and make decisions regarding the servicing of NexTier equipment.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities


  • Demonstrated experience in the following areas: Diesel engine repair, electronic, diagnostic, hydraulic, pneumatic, HVAC, suspension, cryogenics, and transmission system specific Product Service Line through company and OEM training

  • Knowledge of shop equipment and possesses knowledge of shop environment, above and beyond hand tools.

  • Knowledge of applicable DOT regulations.

  • Ability to read, write and speak English to the extent that one can understand verbal and written instructions as well as give verbal and written instructions in English.

  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety manuals, operation instructions and policies/procedures and communicate this information effectively.

  • Ability to write reports and simple correspondence and effectively communicate/present information to groups of coworkers, customers, or members of the management team.

  • Ability to work independently or in a team environment.

  • Ability to adapt to changing work conditions.

  • Ability to promote safety awareness, follow policies & procedures on quality, health, safety and environment.

Key Accountabilities


  • Guide, instruct and train less experienced maintenance personnel.

  • Ensure continual compliance with all workplace safety, environmental, national safety code, NexTier, as well as client policies and regulations.

  • Demonstrate proper driving technique in applicable DOT vehicles.

  • Obtain any certifications and licenses required.

  • Learn basic auxiliary equipment involved in maintenance operations.

  • Continued record of focus on service, quality, and safety.

  • Read diagrams/schematics for work procedures.

  • Operate a hoist and lift device to position machinery in a safe manner.

  • Perform routine maintenance, as well as non-routine repairs, to all the Company's assets.

  • Lubricate, service, diagnose, repair, assemble, and maintain vehicles and perform other routine maintenance work.

  • Keep abreast of changes to industry standards.

  • Work is safety inspected and checked upon completion.

  • Verify that equipment is DOT compliant upon completion of all repairs.

  • Perform all duties as assigned.

Minimum Required Education


  • H.S. Diploma - Required, or

  • G.E.D. - Required, or

  • Applicable Experience

POSITION SUMMARY
 The Mechanic 3, performs maintenance on all company equipment and provides guidance and oversight to entry level or less experienced mechanics.  The individual in this job role knows and follows required processing of paperwork and computer applications and is able to perform all shop duties. Skills are typically acquired by completion of the competency requirements.

Key 
Accountabilities


  • Perform and complete all Essential Functions required of Entry – Level 3 Mechanic positions.

  • Assist with equipment function checks at the facility.

  • Troubleshoots and Diagnoses failed equipment to include: Engine, Electrical, HVAC, Suspension, Transmission, Brake, Communication, Hydraulic and Assist with equipment function checks at the facility.

  • Performs complex repairs on equipment.

  • Oversees maintenance on all equipment as needed.

  • Perform certification and inspection, keeping in compliance with DOT regulations.

  • Plans and executes Maintenance Programs.

  • Inspect and approve completed repairs.

  • Creates Maintenance Orders in SAP or SAP Fiori system.

  • Mentor and coach entry and lower level mechanics during repairs.

  • Coordinates and Facilitates HSE meetings and trainings; Report unsafe acts, conditions or hazards immediately.

  • Perform all duties in compliance with Customer and Company policies and procedures and applicable regulations.

  • Actively participates in safety meetings to identify and address risks and hazards.

  • Utilizes competency Processes to enhance job performance.

  • Perform other tasks and duties as assigned.

  • Lead and present during meetings with regional team, as well as to Operations and District Managers. 

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Ability to identify, maintain and troubleshoot equipment including but not limited to engine, electrical, HVAC, suspension, transmission, brake, diagnostic, communication, hydraulic, and cryogenics systems.

  • Knowledge of applicable DOT regulations.

  • Ability to supervise and oversee maintenance on all equipment.

  • Ability to Mentor and Coach.

  • Ability to facilitate HSW meetings and trainings.

  • Experience in Creating SAP Maintenance order utilizing SAP  Net Weaver or SAP Fiori.

  • Knowledge of process for reviewing, recording, and retaining proper maintenance records.

  • Ability to coordinate corrective maintenance or equipment and plan resources

  • Experience in the inspections of completed repairs prior to returning into production.

  • Ability to read, write and speak English to the extent that one can understand verbal and written instructions as well as give verbal and written instructions in English.

  • Ability to use simple mathematical calculations.

  • H.S. Diploma - Required, or

  • G.E.D. - Required, or

  • Applicable Experience

  • 7-10 years - Required
