Project Engineers play an essential role for Dynamic Manufacturing as it relates to the setup of new production lines and the redesign of existing manufacturing areas. Project Engineers are required to be the leaders and organizers of our strong, cross-functional support staff that help achieve customer and company initiatives. Project Engineers must have a desire to gain a deep understanding of the workflow and activities required to complete Operational projects. These activities range from design, manufacturing, and engineering, to supply chain, quality, and purchasing. The ideal Project Engineer must be a problem solver, go getter, and strategic thinker to succeed in the role.

Project Engineer Core Responsibilities


  • Use industrial and manufacturing engineering principles to plan, design, and execute production activities related to powertrain remanufacturing for various projects.

  • Participate as a contributing member of various projects that include launching new production lines and revamping existing lines.

  • Complete operational projects by organizing and leading cross-functional groups through project elements and activities.

  • Determine and delegate project responsibilities by identifying project phases and elements. Assign responsibilities to appropriate project personnel to ensure project completion.

  • Collaborate with various departments to prioritize, track, and determine tasks needed to ensure project completion.

  • Prepare project status reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information from various departments.

  • Advanced Functions include:

  • Determine project scope and kickoff by reviewing customer specifications and conducting management consultation.

  • Determining project scheduling by balancing customer needs, management feedback, and project scope.

  • Prepare and manage project costing, budget, and approving project expenditures

  • Identify resource needs for projects and consult with department heads and management team to ensure proper resource allocation.

Project Engineer Job Qualifications


  • Bachelor’s or Master’s in Industrial or Manufacturing Engineering, or other equivalent engineering degree, required

  • Proficiency in 2D CAD software such as AutoCAD, required

  • Work experience or internship in automotive or manufacturing industry, preferred but not required

  • Exposure to project management principles, preferred

  • Time management skills along with the ability to prioritize work in the face of multiple projects

  • Strategic, critical thinking skills to make informed decisions for the company

Certifications

Along with this position, Dynamic offers access to relevant training, work experience, and financial assistance toward Project Management Certifications such as CAPM, PMP, etc.

Physical Requirements

This position is active and requires daily activities on the production floor. Verbal and written communication are key functions of this position. Active work involves dexterity, bending, reaching, standing, and walking. The position also requires the ability to occasionally lift and move up to 20 pounds.

Work Conditions

Typical assignments are frequently performed in internal environments. Ability to work in conditions with exposure to dust, dirt, or oil, and hazards is routine and may require the use of protective personal equipment. Ability to be self-aware in the production environment.
