PURPOSE:
Check in all store-stocked hardware product, maintain stock levels and neatness in the store, maintain receiving room, cycle count hardware on a regular basis, customer service in store, customer service and back-up staffing in warehouse.
DAILY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Check in and put away all store-stocked hardware product, e.g. Sure Drive, National, Orgill, Senco, BMD, Natco, etc.
Pull back stock to fill empty bins & hooks
Pull orders for will call and delivery
Keep warehouse clean and organized
Count and update hardware products on a monthly cycle as assigned
Clean and face store shelves
Check for missing or incorrect price tags and back stock tags
Occasional use of forklift as necessary to move material
WEEKLY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Ensure that all overstock is neatly organized in the correct location and labeled with SKU and description
DUTIES TO BE DONE AS NEEDED:
Maintain receiving room and tool cage including moving back stock to store shelves as space allows, sweeping, clearly labeling all back stock, keeping tool cage well organized and secure at all times
Assist Buyer with returns and other duties as needed
Cross-train on checking in and updating of special orders
Cross-train on merchandizing of new product
Cross-train with hardware puller, learning all aspects of the position.
Cross-train with warehouse employees learning all aspects of their positions
Back-up staff in warehouse including:
Occasional cutting of materials for customers with saws in warehouse
Filling orders for customers
Pulling material for will call or delivery orders
Clean-up and maintenance of the warehouse area
SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS:
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Possess exceptional interpersonal communication skills
Possession of strong organizational skills
Ability to work independently on assigned tasks and accept direction on given assignments
Able to work in a cooperative manner as part of a team
Maintain effective working relationships with co-workers, supervisors and the general public
Maintain regular consistent and professional attendance, punctuality, personal appearance, and adherence to relevant health/safety and company policies and procedures
Possession of a high school diploma or equivalent (GED)
6 months to 1 year of relevant experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Operate a variety of standard office machines: computer and computer software, including Microsoft Office, phone, fax, shredding, and copy machines
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Sit/stand for 8 hours per day
Use hands and fingers to manipulate keys on a keyboard
Vision abilities required by this job include close vision
The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet to moderate
Occasional exposure to moving mechanical parts and vehicles
Must be able to lift/carry 50 lbs. occasionally; must be able to push/pull 50 lbs.
Horizontal reaching with arms and hands is required; occasionally must climb or balance
All mobility motions are required (standing, walking, sitting, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, and climbing)
Range of motion and physical activity occurring randomly throughout work day
