This role will lead the daily local and regional Supply Chain Planning activities (SNP, Production Planning, Materials planning team(s) for specific plants and/or product categories. As a Supply Chain Planning leader, you will seek to understand; the uniqueness and constraints your manufacturing/product category; commonality of fundamental supply chain and planning processes/tools, and leverage that understanding on a daily basis. In this cross functional role, you will ensure integration of activities within the Supply Chain group and cross functionally within Saputo Operations. Manager, Supply Chain planning is responsible for leading the routine delivery/improvement of day-to-day information, cross functional business process alignment, decision making and execution of that is fact based, timely, and action oriented. You will ensure your team delivers timely, optimal production and replenishment plans using Saputo planning tools and business processes.

How You Will Make Contributions That Matter



  • Day to Day responsibility to deliver optimal (MRP, PPDS, SNP, Dairy) manufacturing schedules, and material (eg. SFG, FG, ZRAW) replenishment plans that meet targeted inventory positions, and customer fulfilment targets, within the constraints of capacity (resource and space) and product shelf life. Your leadership of a cross functional regional/category planning team will provide continual focus on achieving customer fulfilment at lowest total Saputo cost. Develop effective local supply plans and continual follow-up to execute as per plan, via effective cross functional coordination of activities.

  • Integrated Planning: Supply planning is central to coordinating activities across operating functions. Your expertise in one or more supply planning areas, will direct your team in correct application of all planning modules, tools and planning principles. Your Supply Planning leadership ensures your team uses consistent, approved, End to End planning and reporting system tools across all planning disciplines. You will constantly champion and lead effective cross functional communications.

  • Information and Controls: Daily review and application of key Saputo performance metrics, reporting tools, and Std Operating Procedure ensure consistent process execution. Through measurement ensure appropriate processes/controls are being followed, or identify key process exceptions and lead improvement initiatives within you area of responsibility to resolve non-conformance. You and your working group, will provide a single source of information/guidance for all integrated planning activities under your responsibility (local, regional, divisional) as required.

  • Process Improvement: Recommend and implement process improvement based on business requirements, metrics, and impact analyses. Develop and implement supply risk mitigation plans, cross training to ensure continuity of supply and service. Less is more. This role will constantly champion the simplification of processes, de-duplication of efforts, realizing any step/activity that does not deliver value to the customer (OTIF, Quality, Responsiveness) and to Saputo (Align Quality Product at Lowest Cost) is an opportunity for improvement.

  • People Management: Supply planning is highly cross functional, requires application of technical and business principles, and distributed decision making by all planners. You will continually develop the technical and cross functional coordination skills of your direct reports. You focus on linking people directly to effective processes; enabling them through training, guidance, supporting the teams through change management process.




You Are Best Suited for The Role If You....



  • 7+ years of experience in Supply, Demand or Financial Planning in dairy or CPG industry

  • Supervisory experience, managing both on site and remotely (preferred).

  • Varied work experience in a CPG company, and previous experience in Saputo - preferred

  • Experience in one or more planning disciplines (SNP, Production Planning, MRP) within an integrated planning system, with capability to learn more. Integrated ERP planning system experience, SAP-APO preferred.

  • Degree in Business, Operations Management/Technology or related quantitative field.

  • Demonstrated excellent verbal, written and inter-personal communications skills.

  • Demonstrated skills influencing without authority and project management skills are required.

  • Passionate about problem solving and business process alignment. Ability to see the big picture, but learn and excel in the details.

  • Demonstrated experience developing direct reports (training, documentation)

  • Experience working with and communicating to all levels of the organization.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and advanced analytical tools such as PowerBI.
