We are seeking a full-time Alignment Technician 2 in our Olathe, KS location. In this role, you will be responsible for partnering and assisting Process Engineering with the set-up, maintenance and troubleshooting of automated test equipment while applying advanced electronic theory, electrical testing procedures and demonstrated knowledge and experience to align, test, troubleshoot and repair production electronic sub-assemblies.
Essential Functions
Perform sub-assembly alignments and tuning in accordance with Engineering procedures
Trace circuits of defective units, using knowledge of electronic theory and electronic test equipment to locate to the component level
Discuss, present and analyze alignment, layout and assembly problems with Electronics Engineer/Process Engineer/Electronics Technician
Recommend and implement changes in circuitry or installation specifications to improve assembly, alignment maintenance, test method or product performance
Assist Process Engineers with the setup, maintenance, and troubleshooting of automated test equipment
Perform preliminary analysis of subassembly faults
Demonstrate a level of technical knowledge/competence of the electronics
Set-up/improve layout standard test equipment and conduct functional, operational, environmental and life tests to evaluate performance/reliability of prototype or production products
Analyze, interpret and provide input on test data
Adjust, calibrate, align and modify circuitry and components, record effects on unit performance and provide solutions or recommendations for changes and improvements
Record test/alignment procedures and results, defects, repair history, numerical and graphical data
Mentor level 1 Alignment Technicians and apprentices and ensure associate safety
Must possess the ability to lift up to 25 pounds while using safe lifting techniques and standing for an entire shift
Compliance with HRD-003 (Garmin's Attendance Policy)
Compliance with DOT (Department of Transportation) Requirements
Basic Qualifications
Associate's Degree in Electronics Technology, Vocational Certification in Electronics Technology OR a substantially related field of Military training OR a minimum of 80 hours towards a Bachelor's degree in Electronics Technology or related field OR an Electronic Technician Certification (International Society of Certified Electronic Technicians (ISCET) OR Electronic Technicians Associate International (ETA-I))
Must possess one year demonstrated testing and systems troubleshooting experience
Demonstrated strong and effective verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills along with being team-oriented, possessing a positive attitude and working well with others
Must possess the ability to lift up to 25 pounds while using safe lifting techniques and standing for an entire shift
