PENDING CONTRACT AWARD

 

Supply Technician 01410: This position performs aspects of technical supply management work (e.g., inventory management, storage management, bench stock management, cataloging, and property utilization) related to depot, local, or other supply activities. Work usually is segregated by commodity area or function, and controlled in terms of difficulty, complexity, or responsibility. Assignments usually relate to stable or standardized segments of technical supply management operations; or to functions or subjects that are narrow in scope or limited in difficulty. The work generally involves individual case problems or supply actions. This work may require consideration of program requirements together with specific variations in or from standardized guidelines. Assignments require:

(a) a good working knowledge of the governing supply systems, programs, policies, nomenclature, work methods, manuals, or other established guidelines

(b) an understanding of the needs of the organization serviced

(c) analytical ability to define or recognize the dimension of the problems involved, to collect the necessary data to establish the facts, and take or recommend action based upon application or interpretation of established guidelines

This position requires access to USA supply data, accounting and acquisition systems such as AFEMS, ESS, FedLog and other related systems. perform aspects of technical supply management work (e.g. parts ordering, supply management, part turn-in, inventory management, storage management, receiving, warehousing, transportation, delivery, stocking, DIFM, DRMO, cataloging, and property utilization) related to depot, local, or other supply activities. May also perform tasks in connection with shipping goods and receiving incoming shipments. Duties typically involve: verifying order accuracy; insuring shipments are properly packaged and identified with shipping information, and loaded into transporting vehicles, and preparing and keeping records of goods shipped, e.g., manifests, bills of lading. Receiving duties typically involve the following: verifying the correctness of incoming shipments by comparing items and quantities unloaded against bills of lading, invoices, manifests, storage receipts, or other records, checking for damaged goods, insuring that goods are appropriately identified for routing to departments within the establishment, and preparing and keeping records of goods received. May also perform a variety of warehousing duties that require an understanding of the establishment's storage plan. Work involves most of the following: verifying materials (or merchandise) against receiving documents, noting and reporting discrepancies and obvious damages, routing materials to prescribed storage locations; storing, stacking, or palletizing materials in accordance with prescribed storage methods, rearranging and taking inventory of stored materials, examining stored materials and reporting deterioration and damage, removing material from storage and preparing it for shipment.

 

ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS: At a minimum, two supply technicians must hold a Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) Class D. Ref “Louisiana CDL Manual”, Revised Version 2005: R.S.32:408 B.(2)(d) and 405.1: “Class “D” Chauffeurs Driver’s License. Technician will be required to drive the government-provided/-maintained but not limited to F650 truck (>10,000 pounds, < 26,000 pounds) to pick up/drop off aircraft/engine parts/supplies/rotor blades to/from multiple locations on/off base, as needed.

Preferred Qualifications:


  • 10 or more years experience in aviation logistics

Basic Qualifications: 


  • Logistics Specialist School or equivalent

  • Three or more years supply experience

  • Must meet security requirements for installation, facility and network access

  • Must qualify for and shall possess a Common Access Card (CAC)

 

Compensation

$29.84/hour

Other Compensation

Employees will receive a health and welfare fringe benefit of $2.65 for every hour worked.

Employment is contingent on (a) your ability to provide appropriate proof of your identity and eligibility to work in the United States; (b) your references and any background check being satisfactory to the Company; (c) you successfully passing a pre-employment drug test; and (d) your ability to get a required clearance by your effective start date, if needed; and (e) KAI commencing performance on this contract.
