We are looking for a talented Full-Stack Engineer. An ideal candidate is a curious learner who likes working on all facets of modern Web Applications and is excited about implementing the latest technologies. This engineer should have experience in frontend, backend, and/ or data layer development and can translate broader product and operational needs into engineering needs. They should be passionate about technology, elegant software, scalability, energy, and the climate. Above all else, we are looking for someone who wants to grow with us.

Our team is fully remote, with flexible working hours, though we do expect candidates to work +/- 2 hours from US Central Time working hours. We pride ourselves on our NoOps mentality and use modern, serverless platforms when and where we can. As a member of our engineering team, you should expect to work closely with both the product and operations team. While this role is primarily backend focused using TypeScript, Node, and Google Cloud Functions, you should expect to be hands on any part of our Tech Stack.
What You Will Be Doing - Design, build, and maintain frontend, backend, and data layer applications, hosted in the cloud
- Maintain and add features to an existing React Web Applications
- Develop and improve existing backend Google Cloud Functions
- Maintain and improve the functionality of the existing external API
- Build tools and processes to move and transform data between various APIs (external and internal) and different development environments
- Develop and oversee backend monitoring and alerting solutions to ensure the highest level of operational health and data quality
- Develop and oversee solutions to ensure data integrity and perform anomaly detection to ensure high data quality
- Manage individual project priorities, deadlines and deliverables
- Work both individually and as a part of team
What You Need for this Position - BS degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related technical field (or equivalent practical experience)
-Solid understanding of computer science fundamentals including algorithms, complexity analysis, data structures, information architecture, functional programming, and object-oriented analysis and design
-Solid understanding of database and backend service design principles and concepts
-Experience deploying applications to a cloud provider such as AWS or Azure. We use GCP.
-Experience processing high volumes of both structured and unstructured data
-Well versed in all common data exchange formats including CSV, JSON, XML, etc.
-Solid experience with one or more general purpose programming languages such as Go, Python, Javascript, C#, or Java. We use mostly TypeScript.
-Basic knowledge of frontend tech such as HTML/CSS, Node, React
-Able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and to efficiently balance multiple simultaneous projects with disparate timelines
-Familiar with modern software development, product management, and communication tools. We use GitHub, Linear, Notion, Slack, Tandem, and Google Workspace.

Additional Qualifications:

-Experience working with any of the following: TypeScript, JavaScript, Node, or React
- Experience working with any of the following data platforms: Snowflake, Redshift, Postgres, MySQL, Oracle, SQL Server, MongoDB. We use BigQuery and Firestore.
-Experience working with Google Cloud platform: Cloud Functions, Cloud Build, Cloud Run, Cloud Storage, PubSub, Firebase.
-Experience working with one or more data visualization tools such as Looker, Tableau, PowerBI. We use Retool and Data Studio.
-Experience working with machine learning platforms such as BigQueryML, Tensorflow, SciKit, or Pytorch
-Experience with basic DevOps platforms such as Google Cloud Build or GitHub Actions.
