Built in 1963, our McComb, Ohio facility is our largest location within the United States. This location primarily makes cookies, filled bars and snack crackers. The site spans across 725,000 square footage (900,000 square footage in warehouses), with 14 ovens, 17 finished product packaging lines and has over 360 SKU's. Our facility has over 1,100 Hearthside & temporary employees, is responsible for $250 mil in revenue, and operates 24/7.

Job Summary:
The CI Process Engineer is responsible for driving sustainable continuous improvements in the facility by delivering breakthrough results in Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost, and Morale. The CI Process Engineer works closely with the CI Manager, plant leadership, and department employees to achieve results. This position requires strong technical Lean Manufacturing and hands-on leadership skills.

Job Duties:

Duties may include, but are not limited to the following:
•Demonstrate a safety-first approach in all aspects of the job
•Create and manage facility SOC (standard operating conditions) and Center lining program to ensure adequate process control in all aspects of product manufacturing
•Ability to perform choke point analysis, identify the constraint, and implement effective solutions to improving throughput
•Act as facility technical liaison including:

o Spearhead identification of root causes of operational inefficiencies and the implementation of effective countermeasures to resolve and improve

o Analyze scrap and downtime data to identify and prioritize areas of improvement

o Work closely with operations and maintenance to troubleshoot equipment related issues

o Identify, scope, and provide justification for capital improvement projects

o Support Equipment startups and capital improvement projects
•Works closely with Plant CI teams and CI Champions to:

o Develop and execute improvement action plans

o Build an employee engaged work environment

o Develop tracking tools and measures to support CI initiatives

o Leverage resources and share best practices across all facilities

o Provide and teach CI tools to CI and Non-CI employees
•Leads and facilitates Kaizen events to drive sustainable improvements
•Building cultural change throughout the organization
•Work with customers, suppliers and all levels of management staff.
•Responsible for managing multiple projects at the same time.
•Ensure the facility implements and maintains Continuous Improvement initiatives within the facility.

Required Competencies & Knowledge:

Knowledge of:
•Strong mechanical aptitude preferred
•Experience in manufacturing; preferably in a GMP environment
•Knowledge and experience with SAP and Business Warehouse a plus

Skill in:
•A strong application knowledge of LEAN Manufacturing techniques and related CI tools are required: Root Cause Analysis, Kaizen, OEE, First Hour Full Power, Labor Analysis, 5S, 8Wastes, Changeovers, Six Sigma, etc.
•The CI process engineer should possess extensive technical skills and hands-on experience in continuous improvement manufacturing activities
•Ability to assess equipment inefficiencies in a safe and sound manner
•Change agent, challenging the status quo to drive to operations excellence
•Strong will to drive change.
•Excellent problem solving skills and the ability to work with autonomy.
•Must be accurate, detail-oriented and maintain the utmost confidentiality.

Ability to:
•Ability to effectively present information to employees, top management, public groups and/or board of directors.
•Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions.
•Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
•Ability to work well with others in stressful situations and meet deadlines as necessary.
•Ability to handle multiple priorities and tasks.
•Ability to work in a fast paced environment, while at the same time making sound decisions.
•Must have a strong will to drive change and sustain.

Proficiency in: MS Office Suite, Excel, and PowerPoint.

•Reaching with hands/arms throughout the day.
•Ability to stand, walk, and climb as there will be an opportunity to work with equipment on the production floor.
•Ability to work in light to moderate noise levels.
•Ability to work across multiple shifts

Minimum Qualifications:
•Bachelor's Degree required, preferably in an engineering field (Mechanical, Packaging, Electrical, or Manufacturing)
•One (1) - 3(three) years' experience in Continuous Improvement or a process engineering related area
•Three (3) - 5(five) years' in a manufacturing environment, preferred
