The Role
We are looking for a digital media savvy, part-time Features Editor to join ITHAKA, a highly successful non-profit with a mission to expand access to knowledge and education around the world. Our services-Artstor, JSTOR, Portico, and Ithaka S+R- enable people everywhere to learn, to grow, and to overcome historical barriers to education. You will be part of our Marketing team working on JSTOR Daily (daily.jstor.org) - our award-winning online magazine that reaches over 6 million readers a year. JSTOR Daily provides scholarly context for news and current events using the research, images, and primary sources housed on JSTOR, our platform that makes academic journals, books, documents, images, and other materials available to millions of learners across the globe. This is a great opportunity for a mid-senior level, evidence-oriented editor who is excited to leverage multimedia storytelling to translate scholarship for a general reader.
Remote applicants considered. ITHAKA's marketing teams are primarily based in NYC and Ann Arbor, MI. This role reports to the Editor of JSTOR Daily.
Responsibilities
Acquire, develop, and edit a minimum of four features per month (40%)
Acquire, edit, and manage from concept to publication: interview series, columns, multimedia and other content types as directed. (20%)
Develop and manage editorial partnerships to acquire additional feature content or distribute our content via syndication or partnerships, (20%)
Monitor scholarly communications & major media (15%)

The pay range for this part-time, 25-hour per week position is ( $37,905.00 - $47,381.25 ) Base pay may vary with job-related knowledge, skills, experience, market location, and geography. Our total compensation package includes a no-cost health insurance premium option, an employer-funded retirement plan, and a generous paid time off program for all benefits-eligible staff.
