Quality Assurance Analyst Harris School Solutions - Remote
A Quality Assurance Testing Specialist fulfills an important role at Harris School Solutions, working in the Research & Development Department to ensure that new software development and issue resolutions are ready for release to our customers.
High-level responsibilities include analyzing requirements, developing test plans, staging test data, running tests, documenting results, tracking issues and verifying that all information about each modification is documented correctly. The QA Analyst is responsible for creating a regression plan; executing the plan and managing all activities in the plan to ensure that all the objectives are met and that the solution works as expected.
This position's base salary is between $60,000-$70,000/year based on experience.
Job Description:
Provide quality assurance for and testing of Oasis product releases; investigate all completed development to ensure deliverables meet client specifications before solutions are provided to our clients
Via manual testing, perform application, bug, improvement, and regression testing according to established processes; investigate and report defects using clear, concise language
Using development stories, functional requirements, and statements of work, design and create tests and test data; document regression tests in test repository and test results; share results with team
Serve as customer advocate by ensuring that identified issues are addressed and resolved to deliver a quality product for our customers
Become a Subject Matter Expert on Oasis and use this information in testing; share expertise with other team members
Work closely with the development team and contribute to adoption of agile/SCRUM within Development and QA; attend and contribute to team meetings
Report the progress of and manage the resolution of defects found through phases of the development life cycle to both the development team and QA Manager
Function as a strong team player capable of working seamlessly with developers, Product Management, Sales, Professional Services, QA and Tech Support and provide leadership in support of QA team goals and objectives
Create release notes and update end-user documentation – typically on a quarterly basis
Work with the Product Owner to validate and verify backlog issues
Update and maintain multiple QA environments
Work with QA across multiple product lines and divisions to research, review and implement QA processes/best practices
Identify/streamline process improvements
Qualifications
Minimum 2-3 years business experience in a manual Software Quality Assurance role or Customer Support role or relevant experience with OASIS software
Experience writing high quality, clear and detailed tests and defect reports
Solid understanding of Quality Assurance methods and techniques
Experience documenting release notes and updating end-user documentation
Experience with QA related tools
Familiar with Agile software development
Client/Server and Web application knowledge preferred
Proficiency with Microsoft Office software programs and the proven ability to effectively use software applications for data entry, data analysis, word processing, presentations, and calculations
Positive, proactive attitude is a must; can work independently and on a team
