Job Description:

JOB SUMMARY:
Provides the highest level of Guest Service. Under supervision, prepares and sells food and beverages, cleans and maintains equipment in a fast-paced environment. Welcomes and greets guests, answers questions and provides excellent customer service to contribute to an overall memory-making experience.

This position requires heavy guest interaction on a daily basis. Employees must be enthusiastic about interacting with guests and providing excellent customer service. Must be able to work a varied work schedule. May be required to work past scheduled shifts, including overtime, as needed. Must obtain a CA Food Handler card within 30 days of hire, or show proof of existing CA Food Handler card.

JOB TASKS (IN ORDER OF IMPORTANCE):
- Greet every Guest, answer guest questions and provide consistent, friendly and helpful Guest Service.
- Understand and follow all food safety procedures.
- Sell beer in conformance with the state law and company policies.
- Take orders from customers, relay order to cooks, receive payment and deliver orders.
- Encourage sales when appropriate by consistently doing suggestive selling with each transaction.
- Operate cash register, collects money and determine correct change.
- Follow cash handling policies as explained by supervisor and employee guide.
- Cook and consistently prepare a variety of fast food burgers, sandwiches and side orders.
- When cooking, acknowledge order placed by cashier; prepare food, informing cashier when the order is ready.
- Clean up dining room area, condiment area and work areas.
- Perform in-depth cleaning duties at beginning or end of each shift.
- Maintain safety and sanitation requirements.
- Inform leads and/or supervisors of significant concerns and problems.
- Perform other work as assigned.

All levels of Santa Cruz Seaside Company employees.

RELATIONSHIPS EXTERNAL:
High volume of interaction with guests.

TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE:
Must provide outstanding Guest Service. Customer service, cash handling experience, and math skills are desirable.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
- Ability to provide consistent, friendly and helpful service to employees and guests.
- Ability to learn to follow company policies and procedures (Emergency Action Plan, Food, Cash, Uniform Policies
Safety, etc.)
- Ability to follow verbal and written directions.
- Ability to prepare a variety of fast foods.
- Ability to multitask and work in a very fast paced environment.
- Ability to work well under pressure with speed and accuracy.
- Ability to use proper back safety procedures and techniques.
- Ability to learn to operate a cash register and to make accurate change.
- Ability to stay focused on the job, while taking orders from many guests.
- Ability to work in a team environment.
- Ability to respond appropriately to difficult customer service situations.
- Ability to communicate clearly.
- Ability to clean restaurant equipment and building.
- Ability to obtain CA Food Handler card within 30 days of hire.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Able to walk, bend, stretch and stand for up to eight hours at a time.
- Able to climb stairs.
- Able to work in a noisy, fast-paced environment.
- Able to lift and to carry up to 40 pounds from ground to waist height.
- Able to understand food service orders.
- Able to see to ensure quality of products and equipment.
