The position of Project Captain is responsible for focusing on a particular aspect of a project.

This role may supervise Architectural Designer I.

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.   • Produce contract documents conforming to building codes and zoning regulations

  • Work with engineering consultants

  • Check shop drawings

  • Conduct site visits

  • Assist Project Architect as needed


  • Good working knowledge of building codes, zoning regulations, and approval process

  • Good understanding and knowledge of building systems and site requirements (Structural, MEP, Civil and Geo-Tech)

  • Highly organized, detail-driven and conscientious

  • Able to work well with minimal direction and supervision

  • Proficient in current version of Revit, AutoCAD, MS Word and MS Excel


  • Bachelors or Masters degree in Architecture

  • Minimum 2 years construction or combination 4 years of experience in commercial (retail/mixed use) or multi-family housing projects

  • Licensure in Architecture is preferred

This position requires physical mobility on and around construction sites prior to and after the installation of landscaping, pavement, stairs, elevators, electricity, heating and air conditioning.
