Job Description:

*Work for a company that cares and receive a bonus! The Assistant Director of IBHS may be eligible for a $4000 new hire incentive bonus if hired and meet all qualifications.

Position Summary: The Assistant Director – IBHS will be responsible for the clinical oversight of the IBHS program, both individual and ABA services, in three counties (Allegheny, Butler and Beaver).  The Assistant Director will oversee IBHS staff.  In conjunction with the Administrative Director of IBHS, the Assistant Director will ensure quality of service delivery, grow and maintain relationships with consumers and stakeholders, and ensure program integrity. 

QUALIFICATIONS:


  1. Minimum of two years of full-time post graduate experience clinical experience in one of the following: residential, wraparound, family-based, outpatient or clinical educational environment required.

  2. Be licensed in this Commonwealth as a physician practicing psychiatry, psychologist, professional counselor, marriage and family therapist, certified registered nurse practitioner with a mental health certification or clinical social worker; or a licensed behavior specialist or social worker (with a graduate degree that required a clinical or mental health direct service practicum; or be licensed in this Commonwealth as a professional with a scope of practice that includes overseeing the provision of IBHS and have a graduate degree that required a clinical or mental health direct service practicum. 

  3. Have a certification as a BCBA or other graduate-level certification in behavior analysis and a minimum of 2 years of experience in providing ABA services; or be licensed in this Commonwealth as a psychologist and have a minimum of 5 years of ABA clinical oversight and 40 hours of training related to ABA or a graduate degree/certificate in ABA.

  4. Two years supervisory experience managing in either child welfare or treatment of adults, children and families

  5. A proven track record of implementing clinical programs

  6. Ability to lead, motivate and coach others in a fast-paced, family-focused environment

  7. Experience working with an Electronic Medical Records (EMR) system

  8. Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  9. Must have a valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record. 

  10. Must be eligible for PA State Police clearance, PA Child Abuse History Clearance and FBI Clearance. 

  11. Must be able to identify with the agency Mission Statement and support the agency’s Core Values.

POSITION SPECIFIC CORE COMPETENCIES:
Implement and monitor consistency and fidelity with agency values and preferred clinical approaches


  1. Coach Glade Run philosophy to supervisees through weekly supervision and observation, using training, coaching and mentoring technique.  Keep log or maintain appropriate documentation. 

  2. Implement monitoring tools to assure supervisees’ use of Glade Run values in service delivery.

  3. Coach supervisees to write measurable individualized goals which are tied to the individual/family definition of needs to succeed at home.

  4. Provide training to the environment related to clinical approaches and job skill sets.

Coach staff to ensure strong family partnerships


  1. Ensure the rights, dignity and confidentiality of all clients is maintained. 

  2. Coach staff to assist families to identify team/support people and that each individual is involved in decision making.

Monitor the provision of services/treatment within areas of responsibility


  1. Ensure that the health and safety of individuals served and staff is maintained in alignment with Sanctuary principles and practices, regulatory requirements, accreditation standards and agency policies.

  2. Teach/Coach current best practice interventions/approaches by conducting regular observations of interventions and interactions.

  3. Review all treatment plans and related documentation to assure that treatment occurs at the established frequency and meets agency values. 

  4. Attend clinical meetings and monitor progress in the three identified goals of individualization, generalization, and family partnerships for each individual served. 

  5. Lead weekly team meetings to ensure that organizational goals and operating policies are communicated, understood and followed by all staff.  

  6. Evaluate delivery of clinical services to ensure that highly individualized goals can be generalized home through direct observation, weekly supervision, meeting minutes, family feedback, etc. 

Collaborate with the Administrative Director to ensure that clinical aspects of agency licensure are met


  1. Identify training opportunities for all disciplines based on needs assessments and regulatory mandates.

  2. Collaborate with the Training Department to monitor staff training compliance. 

  3. Assure necessary staffing resources are met in coordination with HR and Quality & Compliance departments.

  4. Coach staff in the clinical orientation and skilled intervention techniques adopted by Glade Run Lutheran Services.

  5. Review progress notes and ensure they meet all clinical and regulatory standards.

Fiscal oversight and monitoring costs of assigned program area


  1. Monitor productivity of program staff through established tools.

  2. Determine staffing resources and program needs with the Administrative Director 

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL POSSESS A DEMONSTRATED KNOWLEDGE IN THE FOLLOWING AREAS:


  • Clinical based practices including DSM-V, clinical interventions, etc.

  • Knowledge of Evidenced Based Practices

  • Coaching and supervision practices

  • Community regulations when applicable

  • Department of Human Services regulations

  • Trauma-informed care

  • Sanctuary Model of Organizational Leadership
