Job Overview: We are currently seeking a Procurement Specialist to be based at our Deer Park, TX location and will have a Regional support responsibility. This position will report to the Region Reliability Center Manager at the same location. The Specialist works with the Regional Reliability team and other corporate/regional/plant personnel to support achieve tactical reliability goals. The overall objective of the Procurement Specialist is to procure parts, services and equipment for a fast paced reliability and maintenance organization. Primary Responsibilities: - Procure, expedite, and coordinate deliveries of parts, services, equipment and supplies. - Support outage planning and execution through effective pre-planning involvement, procurement and coordination of deliveries and staging. - Provide procurement and delivery support at the office or on-site in the field, for routine as well as emergency needs. - Develop Bills-of-Materials in the CMMS system for critical assets. - Identify and establish preferred vendors for parts and services in key locations within region. - Maintain accurate record keeping of procurement activities and publish monthly reports on procurement KPI. - Update CMMS and ERP systems with relevant procurement data such as cost, suppliers and parts information. - Comply with all applicable regulatory and Praxair standards in execution of procurement responsibilities. This position requires a combination of office work and field work. This position typically requires approximately 10% travel domestically. Accessibility during off-hours (laptop and cell phone) is occasionally required. Qualifications: Required Qualifications: - Minimum 5 years of experience in a purchasing support role within an industrial manufacturing environment. - Proven knowledge of Mechanical, Electrical and Instrumentation spare parts components and nomenclature. - Proven experience in CMMS systems (such as Infor EAM) and ERP systems (such as J.D.Edwards). - Understanding of regulatory and industry standards for procurement. - Excellent communication, team interaction and presentation skills. - Proven ability to work independently as well as lead/participate on cross functional teams. - Proven experience as a self-starter who effectively manages multiple tasks and achieves results with minimal supervision. - Proven experience in computers and standard software packages (MS Office, E-Mail etc.). Preferred Qualifications: - Associate/ Bachelor Degree in Business Administration, Information Technology or Engineering. - Certification in Procurement or Supply Chain Management. - Proven knowledge of Spare Parts Management and Planning & Scheduling processes. - Experience in operating fork-lifts and standard warehouse mobile equipment.
