Job Description:

POSITION SUMMARY:



The intent of this position is to educate and train in preparation for advancement within the agency business insurance service team and is approximately a six-month program. Successful completion will automatically qualify the Associate I to promote to Associate II.



PROGRAM OVERVIEW



The Associate I program is focused on systems training, insurance education and life/business skills. The Associate will be expected to complete self-study assignments, participate in discussions, and demonstrate a basic understanding of insurance through the use of various assessment tools. Participants will work both in teams and individually. Preliminary training will focus on business auto, general liability, property, umbrella and workers compensation insurance. This training will be followed by a licensing course and the license exam. Obtaining a license will be requisite to continue in the program.


Following licensing, the program participants will be trained in support functions such as certificates of insurance, endorsement follow-up and processing, loss summaries and other tasks as assigned. There will be continued insurance coverage training as well as skills training.



KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:

• Work experience in a service-related industry such as retail, hospitality, etc. or in administration/support


• Working knowledge of latest Microsoft products
