Job Description

About the Position: Jim Taliaferro Community Mental Health Center (JTCMHC) – Altus, OK is searching for a therapist to provide mental health services to children and adolescents.  JTCMHC provides mental health services to infants, young children, and adolescents. Applicants with experience providing services to early childhood and middle childhood age consumers are encouraged to apply!  The person selected will be responsible for all aspects of service delivery including treatment planning and progress documentation.  Robust training opportunities are available to further the applicant's education. Must have a license in a mental health field or have approved supervision for licensure.  Person must have strong assessment skills.  The incumbent will be trained in a variety of assessment tools and evidence-based interventions. Applicants interested in providing services that are trauma informed, strength based, and family focused are encouraged to apply!

Minimum Qualifications and Experience:

• Completion of curriculum requirements for a master’s degree in psychology, social work, counseling, or closely related field; and must be a practitioner with a license to practice in the state of Oklahoma issued by one of the following licensure boards: Psychology, Social Work (clinical specialty only); Professional Counselor; Marriage and Family Therapist; Behavioral Practitioner; or Alcohol and Drug Counselor. (Examples include Licensed Psychologist, LCSW, LPC, LMFT, LBP, LADC, LADC/MH).

OR

• Completion of curriculum requirements for a master’s degree in psychology, social work, counseling, or closely related field; and must be actively and regularly receiving board approved supervision, and extended supervision by a fully licensed clinician if board’s supervision requirement is met but the individual is not yet licensed, to become licensed by one of the following licensure boards: Psychology, Social Work (clinical specialty only); Professional Counselor; Marriage and Family Therapist; Behavioral Practitioner; or Alcohol and Drug Counselor.

Special Requirements:

• Applicants must be willing and able to fulfill any job-related travel normally associated with this position and as such have a valid driver’s license.

About us: Jim Taliaferro Community Mental Health Center in Lawton, OK is a community-based center with a primary focus on mental health and substance abuse treatment. The inpatient and outpatient services they provide include special groups and programs for adolescents, persons with co-occurring mental health and substance abuse disorders, seniors and older adults, women, men, and criminal justice groups.
