Responsible for providing professional support of employee health programs, company loss-control programs, training programs, and in-plant medical assistance programs. To co-ordinate and implement the occupational health programs and to work toward maintenance of good health, reduction of health risks, and promotion of wellness for all employees.
Assist employees who are injured or become ill while at work.
Performs pre-employment health screenings, drug screenings (pre-employment, random, post-accident and for cause)
Maintains all medical records.
Handling of all Worker's Compensation cases. Accurate record keeping (insurance records, OSHA Log).
Acts as a liaison on health matters between employee, doctors, physical therapists and insurance representatives. Reviews such items as physician reports on employee health, workers' compensation insurance claims, medical restrictions on employee work and the policies and procedures of the medical department.
Coordinate various medical programs such as: Audiometric Testing and hearing conservation, Vision Testing, Driver DOT physicals, PIT physicals, and other training programs such as, Bloodborne Pathogen and Hazardous Communication, First Aid, First Responder and CPR.
Coordinate quarterly initiatives with local organizations to inform employees of community/local offerings and learning opportunities related to their own health and promoting involvement in their community.
Assists and give recommendations on ADA accommodation requests.
Responsible for training and medical supervision of company first-aid teams.
Orders and maintains medical supplies and keep medical department adequately supplied.
Coordinate and partner on medical company events such as Flu shot, Biometric screening, Breast Cancer awarness.
Qualifications
Minimum Education:
Required: A.A. Nursing with RN License in NC
Preferred: Bachelor's of Nursing B.S.N
Knowledge Skills and Experience:
Required: RN must be have a license in good standing with NC Board of Nursing
3 years of education/experience in Occupational Health; current certification in CPR, First Aid, and Bloodborne Pathogens
Preferred: B.S. Degree in nursing with 5 or more years of Occupational health experience in a manufacturing/warehousing environment; Certification in Occupational Health (COHN-S)
