Responsible for the oversight and direction for effective, efficient, and profitable customer service and operational proficiency for services provided including the organization's performance to customer specific metrics and goals, and special needs dictated by the client. Models and acts in accordance with our guiding principles and core values.


  • Provide leadership and direction to Operations and Customer Service.
  • Ensure that Operations and Customer Service interact collaboratively to provide quality service to the customer and operational excellence.
  • Provide strategic operational direction.
  • Responsible for net revenues, margin, and the service.
  • Provide input regarding the development and deployment of effective operational strategies.
  • Design and implement business solutions, using project management methodology to ensure timely and quality service delivery within budget, and according to (KPI) standards.
  • Train and mentor Customer Service and Operations Management to ensure that staff executes service agreements at or above the customer's standards.
  • Maximize transportation revenues from key customers through a collaborative, operationally oriented sales approach.
  • Develop and maintain business revenue reports and other customer required documentation.
  • Oversee and manage the professional development and productivity of staff members to ensure proper goals, training, development and project requirements are met.
  • Conduct annual performance reviews for all staff within department.
  • Implement and sustain Lean practices.
  • Address all employee performance problems promptly and directly in accordance with personnel policies of the company.
  • Keep abreast of emerging technology changes and innovations through formal or informal study, reading business and professional publications, networking, and participation in professional organizations.
  • Perform other duties as needed.


Education and Experience:
  • High School Degree or GED required.
  • Bachelor's Degree preferred; or equivalent combination of work experience and completion of the LDP program.
  • Minimum seven to ten years related experience in domestic and international freight forwarding operations.
  • Minimum five years in freight forwarding operations.
  • Minimum five years industry experience preferred.
  • Minimum five years supervisory or management experience required.

  • Must be able to read, write, and speak English fluently.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office, internet, web-based and job specific software applications.

  • Demonstrated success in managing (KPI's) Key Performance Indicators
  • Experienced in financial management (P&L's, balance sheets, forecasting and budgets) to effectuate return on investment.
  • In-depth knowledge of all products and services
  • Advanced skill in creating Excel Spreadsheets for analysis in the use of macros, pivot tables, v-lookup, formulas for calculating results and reporting variances.
