PENDING CONTRACT AWARD

 

Sheet-Metal Worker, Maintenance (23890): The Sheet-Metal Worker, Maintenance fabricates, installs and maintains in good repair the sheet-metal equipment and fixtures (such as machine guards, grease pans, shelves, lockers, tanks, ventilators, chutes, ducts, metal roofing) of an establishment. Work involves most of the following: planning and laying out all types of sheet-metal maintenance work from blueprints, models, or other specifications, setting up and operating all available types of sheet-metal working machines, using a variety of hand tools in cutting, bending, forming, shaping, fitting and assembling, and installing sheet-metal articles as required. In general, the work of the maintenance sheet-metal worker requires rounded training and experience usually acquired through a formal apprenticeship or equivalent training and experience.

 

Task Requirements:


  • Perform Field and limited Sustainment Level maintenance

  • Back shop component repairs including manufacture and fabrication of parts IAW drawings

  • Corrosion management treatments

  • Preparation and application of coatings 

  • Comply with published technical data, engineering dispositions and unit procedures

  • Ensure good house keeping and FOD free environment

  • Perform other duties as assigned

 

Preferred Qualifications:


  • Five or more years of Field/limited Sustainment Level experience

 

Basic Qualifications:


  • MINIMUM EXPERIENCE: one-year aircraft maintenance

  • Must be able to work 1st, 2nd or 3rd shift as required IAW PWS

  • Must be able to obtain a Common Access Card (CAC) and shall be required to pass the equivalent of a trustworthy National Agency Check plus Written Inquiries with Credit Check (NACI), IAW DTM-08-003 “Next Generation Common Access Card (CAC) Implementation Guidance”, or latest guidance, at no additional cost to the Government, prior to being allowed to work under any task order PWS.

 

Compensation

$25.69/hour

Other Compensation

Employees will receive a health and welfare fringe benefit of $2.65 for every hour worked.

Employment is contingent on (a) your ability to provide appropriate proof of your identity and eligibility to work in the United States; (b) your references and any background check being satisfactory to the Company; (c) you successfully passing a pre-employment drug test; and (d) your ability to get a required clearance by your effective start date, if needed; and (e) KAI commencing performance on this contract.
