The Positive Employee Relations Director is responsible for overseeing labor relations for all our sites within the U.S. This role will be responsible for collaborating with the Human Resource Business Partners to support our facilities through the development and implementation of processes, procedures, and policies that enhance the employee experience. The primary focus of the role is to maintain optimal work environments that foster positive working relationships and two-way communication between employees and leadership. They will act as a key point of reference regarding employee relations activities and will partner with the Human Resource Business Partners to train and coach leaders on how to create and maintain a culture of care.
Influence business decisions to optimize the employee experience while balancing impact
Develop/design organizational health strategy & toolkit
Conduct on-site assessments of employee engagement
Work with Human Resource Business Partners across the organization to help drive positive employee relations and facilitate productive two-way communication between employees and leadership
Monitor Employee Relations trends, local and Federal law changes and rulings that could potentially impact CBI
Develop and present information briefings for management to improve understanding of Labor Relations and promote improved management solutions.
Support Human Resources during crisis situations
Ownership of employee advocacy, training, communication – advise HR and business leadership; train leadership on topics related to creating an optimal working relationship with employees; assess working conditions, safety, employee experience and leadership effectiveness; conduct on-site response to engagement and environmental concerns; deliver site-specific action plans and follow up
Make recommendations to managers and Human Resources Managers on appropriate corrective action based on written policies and procedures and circumstances of specific situations.
Bachelor’s degree and 10+ years experience in Human Resources, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Knowledge of Federal Labor law
Experience assisting management effectively avoid and/or manage labor organizing campaigns
Experience with employment law basics
Bilingual (English/Spanish verbal and written) required
Excellent communication (verbal and written)
Strong analytical, time management and organizational skills
Excellent employee relations, teamwork, presentation, and interpersonal skills
Proven track record to identify and resolve sensitive issues and alert management to potential liability
Experience diffusing tension and effectively mediating conflict
Interpersonal and cultural sensitivity, personal credibility and ability to build trust and relationships with others
Ability to influence and initiate change
Ability to understand and adapt to the business

$106,300.00 - $193,400.00This is the lowest to highest salary we in good faith believe we would pay for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range, and the range may be modified in the future. An employee’s pay position within the salary range will be based on several factors including, but limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic location, performance, shift, travel requirements, sales or revenue-based metrics, any collective bargaining agreements, and business or organizational needs. We offer comprehensive package of benefits including paid time off, medical/dental/vision insurance, 401(k), and any other benefits to eligible employees.
