The University of Pittsburgh Department of Medicine, Division of Infectious Diseases is seeking a Sr. Research Manager for the Mailliard lab. The incumbent will act as a coordinator of Pitt Center for Aids Research (CFAR) Systems Biology Core, co-directed by Dr. Mailliard. The Mailliard lab research focus is centered on the induction and regulation of adaptive immune responses to chronic diseases including HIV-1 infection and cancer for the purpose of developing effective cellular based immunotherapies. The incumbent is required to have experience working with potentially infectious human biological samples, blood processing and banking, sterile technique, tissue culture, and flow cytometry. Experience with computer programs for freezer sample inventory and laboratory scheduling is a plus. The person will also be required to be capable of moving and replacing heavy CO2 and LN2 storage tanks on occasion.

Previous experience working with human biologic samples, sterile technique, tissue culture are required for the position. A background and understanding of immunologic assays is a plus. Ability to work Independently and as a team member with strong organizational and communication skills are required. Equivalent combination of relevant education and experience may be substituted. Master's degree with 2-3 years' experience is required.
