The Division of Pulmonary, Allergy and Critical Care Medicine in the Department of Medicine at Oregon Health and Science University seeks a candidate for an Associate Professor position on the clinical educator track. Expertise is required in allergic and immunologic diseases for a diverse patient population in outpatient clinics and on inpatient consultations services.
The Division of Pulmonary Allergy & Critical Care Medicine (PACCM) provides expert care for patients with lung diseases, allergies and immunologic disorders, and post-critical illness needs in our outpatient clinics, pulmonary and allergy patients in our hospitals, and critically ill patients in our intensive care units. In addition to our commitment to outstanding clinical care, we are proud of our extensive research programs, from basic science to clinical trials. Function/Duties of Position
Provision of outpatient and inpatient clinical duties in the Allergy and Immunology Section of the Division of Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine, as assigned by the Division Head. Responsibilities may include proficiency in treating both common and complex allergic and immunologic disorders in both inpatient and outpatient practice. The provider may also be required to spend part of their clinical time at nearby satellite locations in the Portland metro region. There will be opportunities to lead and coordinate the development of multi-disciplinary clinics in food allergy, asthma, atopic dermatitis, and severe sinus disease.
Administrative, Educational and Academic Duties:
There are no specific administrative responsibilities assigned at this time. Educational responsibilities include presenting at and otherwise participating in division grand rounds and other conferences and may include teaching residents and medical students. Further responsibilities will be developed in conjunction with the division chief.
Conduct independent clinical, translational, or basic science research.
MD or other qualifying doctorate degree.
Must have or be eligible for an Oregon Medical License.
ABIM certification or eligibility for certification.
Completion of an accredited fellowship in Allergy/Immunology.
The ideal candidate should have an interest and experience in education, systems improvement initiatives, and/or clinical research related to asthma, allergy and immunology.
