MiTek is hiring a Quality Control Manager to evaluate current quality control processes and create a standard quality control program for implementation at all global manufacturing sites. Working with plant leaders, this role would also evaluate current quality defects during production and create an action plan for how to prevent such defects in the future.

Job Responsibilities & Requirements

Job Responsibilities

  • Provides direction to ensure compliance to quality contractual requirements, MiTek requirements and program objectives by developing and managing Quality Planning to multiple programs.
  • Manages audit planning and execution across programs to ensure compliance to the Management System.
  • Manages compliance and certifications with standards
  • Manages and monitors performance to assigned Quality Department and program goals and objectives.
  • Ensures compliance with internal processes and external standards, recommends process improvement initiatives, and monitors the effectiveness of implemented process improvement initiatives.
  • Supports in evaluating and monitoring supplier performance, identifying areas needing improvement, and overseeing corrective and preventive actions implemented by MiTek suppliers.
  • Establishes and implements process metrics for monitoring effectiveness and to enable managers to make sound business decisions
  • Addresses and improves all aspects of customer quality issues and corrective actions.
  • Performs managerial functions and other related duties as required to implement continuous process improvements in quality-related processes/procedures.
  • May support supply chain management activities and coordinate with Manufacturing and Procurement teams to obtain effective correction and preventive actions and generate metrics and status reports.

Skills & Abilities

  • Education and/or Experience: Bachelor's Degree with a minimum of 5 - 7 years related management experience with heavy industrial manufacturing or multiple plant locations; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Ability to read engineering drawings.
  • Communication: Effectively communicate with co-workers and management regarding work and safety issues. Read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, procedures manuals, etc. Write routine reports and correspondence. Speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization. Developed strong communication, problem solving, and human relation skills.
  • Reporting: Ability to create reports using tools such as Excel and PowerBI taking into consideration the audience the report will be utilized by.
  • Reasoning Ability: Able to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Able to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • Computer/Software Skills: Strong skills and knowledge of Internet software and MS Software (Outlook, Word, Excel) and ERP/MRP systems.
  • Travel: Up to 50%
