About the role:

The summer internship program is a full-time commitment of 12 weeks in length and offers a unique perspective into a world-class pharmaceutical company. Our internship program also provides you the opportunity to network with people at Takeda through various planned events and activities.
Project Outline:
Develop Data Strategy Framework for Non-alcoholic Fatty Liver Disease (NAFLD)/Non-alcoholic Steatohepatitis (NASH)
Liver disease is one of the pillars within the Gastroenterology Therapeutic Area, that includes both rare liver diseases (e.g: AATD-LD, Alagille Syndrome) and chronic liver diseases (e.g. NAFLD/NASH). There is currently no approved therapy for NASH, however several clinical trials are in progress for molecules with different mode of actions. There are several registries (national/international) with objectives to better understand the natural history, use of non-invasive assessments, biomarkers to better diagnose/monitor patients, including identifying and validating potential markers to measure treatment response. Additionally, several other data sources/data platforms also capture key outcomes for NAFLD/NASH which can be leveraged to support real world evidence strategy.
Project will be focused on developing a comprehensive Data Strategy Framework in collaboration with different stakeholders within Data Sciences Institute to support real world evidence generation strategy for overall NASH portfolio.
A high-level overview of project execution will include (but not limited to):
Expected Deliverable: A detailed PowerPoint slide deck accompanied by excel file with details of the data sources.
This will be a hybrid role.
