The Medicare Stars Regional Analyst position will be part of Cigna's Medicare Advantage Stars Analytics team with a dotted line to regional Stars operations leaders. This role is responsible for supporting regional Stars teams with qualitative and quantitative data and analysis to optimize local performance.

The individual selected for this role will be responsible for:


  • Providing qualitative trending and performance analysis at the provider and customer level based on quantitative tools and analytics produced by the enterprise Stars analytics team.

  • Identifying risks and opportunities associated with achieving Star rating goals and recommending solutions to the operations team based on analysis of Stars data and business processes.

  • Supporting local Stars strategy execution efforts including building custom modeling and tools in support of localized initiatives or activities.

  • Acting as a liaison between the enterprise Stars analytics team and local markets to help communicate enterprise capabilities and/or local market needs.

  • Participating in, and at times leading, meetings with business partners as a Stars Analytics SME.

  • Supporting the preparation of Executive level Stars updates.

Job requirements include:


  • Minimum 5 years professional experience in healthcare or related field

  • Strong knowledge of the CMS Star Rating System, including HEDIS, CAHPS, HOS, PDE, and Administrative Measures strongly preferred

  • 3+ years of experience with regular use of the following tools:

    • SQL Server & Teradata - Stored Procedures and Query Development

    • Microsoft Excel - Experience with Macros is a plus

    • Tableau

    • Python or R - Preferred

    • Inovalon Quality Spectrum Insight and Quality Spectrum Hybrid Reporter



  • Excellent oral and written communications skills

  • Exceptional attention to detail and ability to produce error free analytics

  • Strong ability to work autonomously and deal with ambiguity

If you will be working at home occasionally or permanently, the internet connection must be obtained through a cable broadband or fiber optic internet service provider with speeds of at least 10Mbps download/5Mbps upload.

For this position, we anticipate offering an annual salary of 70,400 - 117,400 USD / yearly, depending on relevant factors, including experience and geographic location.

This role is also anticipated to be eligible to participate in an annual bonus plan.
