Process Technician - Electronics Testing Laboratory at II-VI Incorporated

Job Description:

Primary Duties & Responsibilities


  • ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

    • Trouble shoot operating issues with the test & measurement (T&M) tools
    • Perform factory service on probers and automatic optical inspection (AOI) tools
    • Expert service including repair and replacement of major and minor sub-assemblies
    • Perform routine preventative maintenance
    • Perform Gage R&R (gage repeatability and reproducibility) as needed to verify equipment operation
    • Planning, performing, and documentation of maintenance and Gage R&R results
    • Present the results of the studies to internal customers
    • Generate master issue lists and work with the vendors to address and close open actions
    • Execution of tasks on a customer driven schedule and the 24-7 production schedule
    • Operating and troubleshooting equipment and software
    • Proficiency in accessing data systems as needed to analyze data
    • Schedule with engineers, technicians, and operators to maximize up-time of systems
    • Arrange for repair of equipment and maintain the pool of spare equipment
    • Inventory and tag equipment per the purchasing and calibration systems guidelines
    • Domestic and international travel may be required
  • SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Training of Operators and Technicians

Education & Experience

  • A two or four-year college or trade school degree is desired
  • Relevant work experiences are also considered
  • Excellent mechanical and troubleshooting skills
  • Knowledge of and hands-on experience with optical and electronic test instrumentation
  • An ability to solve problems is needed to anticipate and troubleshoot equipment failures
  • The ability to meet the physical demands of the position including lifting approximately 50# (23 Kg)
  • Understanding of calibration methods and procedures
  • Working knowledge of statistics and statistics software
  • Skilled with software packages: Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
  • Accessibility to support shift work is required

This includes proficiency in the operation of the tools, maintaining the tools, troubleshooting, and replacing parts and consumables. Maintaining the tools includes full electro-optical-mechanical tear down of both minor and major assemblies. Documentation of procedures and training others are other aspects of the position.
