Maker's Mark is seeking a Sr. Manager to support the Business Development initiatives for the brand globally. The ideal candidate is a passionate, curious, strategic thinker with strong organizational, leadership, and interpersonal skills.

As part of the team, you will be an integral part in propelling Bill Sr. and Margie's vision for building Maker's Mark on the next chapter of its legacy. Focusing on building and strengthening the capabilities and connections necessary to enhance our unique "Maker's way" of brand building.

Role Responsibilities

This critical role will support our efforts with strategic markets to measure their deployment efforts ensuring strategic alignment in their role of achieving the brand's long-term ambitions. You will support brand initiatives and our innovation strategy while identifying and sharing best practices to enable learnings and inspire continuous improvement for our market partners. The successful individual will work with Senior Stakeholders across the business to ensure our brand experiences are deployed in line with our global strategic guidance, putting the consumer at the heart of everything we do and is measured so we can influence year over year improvements. They will ensure that all activity and brand related components of the business plan are as effective as possible ensuring our P&L remains strong. The successful individual will be the interface between brand house, commercial, finance, RGM, and supply chain teams with a focus on fostering exceptional working relationships. This specific role will focus on:

ROLE DESCRIPTION:


  • Working closely with the Sr. Director and Sr. Advocacy Manager to support the mid-long-term execution for the brand.

    • You will be integral to our globalization efforts, refining growth our largest markets, while supporting growth in accelerating and emerging markets.
    • You will lead the annual Growth Plan process, ensuring all parties are connected and strategically aligned to our long-term ambitions.
    • You will be at the center of our allocation strategy ensuring we are fueling growth our most critical markets.
    • You will be an expert at influencing and engaging stakeholders, drawing on extensive in-market experience and your collaborative leadership style.
    • You will monitor and identify category, portfolio, brand, and competitive trends providing recommendations on a monthly/quarterly basis.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:


  • Lead Planning and communication for our team including Growth Planning, and other strategic alignment meetings we navigate throughout the year
  • The Brand House lead for our S&OP process, helping to refine and improve on an ongoing basis.
  • Work in partnership with our Brand House Digital team as markets deploy the brand's global digital agenda.

    • You will develop and monitor key metrics to monitor the deployment and brand investment on a quarterly/annual basis to enable our Central team to deliver improved experiences and brand assets.
  • Track the brands' performance against the brand dashboard, actively investigating the root causes for performance (good and bad) to course correct or accelerate, accordingly.
  • Develop and lead the launch plans for our innovation items inline with the global strategy. Leading the deployment of best-in-class release plans in partnership with central, digital, and advocacy teams.

The ideal person has a traditional brand background or, has a more commercial background and would like to expand their brand building capabilities by sharpening their strategic intuition and turning insights into action.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Proven superb project management skills to plan and execute a broad variety of projects according to agreed timelines and any constraints.
  • Passionate and determined, committed to delivering projects on-time and above expectations.
  • Impeccable organizational skills with a resilient, solutions-oriented and positive "can do" mental attitude.
  • An insatiable curiosity with the ability to use this to develop and strengthen projects. A desire to own projects, to drive change and keep key stakeholders invested and connected.
  • A self-starter who is able to manage multiple priorities effortlessly. Has a proactive way of working. An ability to work remotely and independently from stakeholders and colleagues.
  • Ability to operate clearly and effectively under pressure in a fast-paced business environment
  • Proactive to conflict resolution as working is geographically fragmented in a highly matrixed environment.
  • Proven track record of experience in leading and managing agency/outside partners.
  • Close attention to detail and outstanding process management and development skills.

  • Internal: Maker's Mark Global Brand House, Advocacy lead, Global and Central Finance teams, Global Strategy, Operations team, Insights, and Supply Chain
  • External: 3rd party distributor teams
EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS:


  • 5+ years in a local, regional, or global marketing role
  • Proven experience in managing multi-dimensional projects with multiple inputs and outputs in Spirits or other consumer-led categories.
  • Track record of cross-functional team leadership and generating motivation/enthusiasm for innovations and other projects.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, with ability to communicate effectively in a multicultural, cross-functional organization.
  • Empathetic people skills spanning many nationalities and differing attitudes.
