Job Description:

Development and oversight of the BSA Currency Exchange functions, including management of BSA CYEX Personnel.

Develop and manage the Currency Exchange program and provide subject matter expertise.

Manage the CYEX enhanced due diligence process and investigation process of suspicious transactions and situations detected by the unit as a result of the review of specialized monitoring.

Collaborate with other BSA Leaders and Officers for functions and processes related to the BSA CYEX Unit such as Governance, Currency Transaction Reporting, Alert review, SAR filing, OFAC/Sanctions escalations, and Model Development.

Subject matter expertise in the review of Bank risk assessments, policies and procedures.

Participate in examinations and audits to include: review and collect first day letter request items related to BSA Exams and Audits, regular interaction with Examiners and Auditors to ensure prompt and accurate responses and review all BSA related tracking report items, provide validation and procedural assistance as applicable.

Qualifications:


  • 5-7 years BSA experience, including previous experience with BSA related examinations and audits


  • Managerial or similar experience with high-risk BSA related functions


  • CAMS certified or in the process of obtaining CAMS certification or other BSA/Fraud related certification


  • Bachelor degree preferred or equivalent work experience


  • Strong communication, problem solving and time management skills


  • Advanced Computer Skills

A key leadership role within the corporate BSA/AML program managing the high-risk Currency Exchange (CYEX) program as the AVP Holding Company BSA CYEX Officer and Manager for the CYEX unit.  This role requires a subject matter expert to lead the CYEX team in day-to-day execution and future planning.   This position draws upon experience and sound judgment to provide oversight, enhanced due diligence, and monitoring as it applies to BSA/AML Regulations, Office of Foreign Asset Control (OFAC), and the USA PATRIOT Act.  Ability to expand the program and work closely to enhance CYEX functions and BSA controls for other emerging high risk customer types such as crypto related businesses and third party payment processors.  This role is key to further growth and development of the CYEX team members.  Additionally, the incumbent coordinate functions and key activities with other Wintrust BSA units, Wintrust Management, Treasury Management, Commercial, Operations, external Consultants, Currency Exchange Management, etc. 

Is the Board approved BSA/OFAC Officer for multiple, complexly structured designated banks and BSA resource providing guidance, strategies and direction.

The incumbent is a member of the BSA/AML leadership team and the Compliance executive team.  As such, the individual will participate in projects and efforts related to the overall Compliance goals.  The incumbent is responsible for the growth and development of the CYEXteam members and supporting professional development efforts across BSA/AML, Compliance and key areas of WTFC.
