Job Description:

Summary: Provide leadership to and be responsible for the day-to-day operations of the company's facilities and business units as part of the Senior Executive Team. This will include St. Paul's Manor, St. Paul’s Plaza, St. Paul's Villa, the McColl Health Center, the Community Care Center, the Facilities Management department, Dining Services, Chaplaincy Services, and the Public Relations and Marketing department.
 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:


  • Inspires all direct reports with confidence and good will, and creates opportunities for fun and jovial times.

  • Provides overall administrative supervision to facility Administrators and Managers who are responsible for coordination of assigned services and departments.

  • Oversees maintenance and protection of buildings, equipment and fixtures to ensure continuous use and operation through supervision of Facilities department that includes maintenance, housekeeping, laundry, security, communications, grounds and transportation, safety and security systems and programs.

  • Coordinates the preparation and submission of annual budgets for all responsible operations, in conjunction with the Chief Financial Officer.

  • Oversees each facility’s operation and ensures revenues and expenditures are in line with the approved budget.

  • Meets with Administrators and Managers regularly to provide oversight, including review of monthly financial reports and ensure compliance with/better than, the budget; or to plan corrective action where necessary.

  • Oversight of the Company's Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) efforts including leading the DEI committee and working with outside consultants to continue to foster an environment consistent with St. Paul's organizational values.

  • Responsible for the overall coordination and administration of admissions to all facilities, maintaining all related programs, and for updating and reviewing all systems and procedures as needed. Ensures budgeted census goals are met or exceeded.

  • Develops, presents to President/CEO/Executive Team, and implements organizational operating policies and procedures.

  • Maintains continuity of oversight & management of assigned department and facility heads (including hiring, evaluation, and termination).

  • Assures compliance with all government regulations and maintains compliance with Title 22, State of California.

  • Develops and maintains an agreeable working relationship with the State Departments of Social Services, Health Care Services and other related governmental organizations.

  • Coordinates and directs function and staff responsible for Marketing and Public Relations. Serves as designated media respondent when necessary.

  • Coordinates with Human Resources, Risk Management and the Senior Management Team to ensure that procedures are in-place to facilitate risk management reviews, health and safety programs, and fire and disaster protection. Participates in the monitoring of results of these programs. Chairs and participates on the Corporate Safety Committee. Maintains an oversight role of designated facilities and programs during any short- or long-term disaster.

  • Maintains an awareness of public policy issues related to the current operations and those that could affect future plans and operations.

  • Assumes responsibility for any given facility or function in the absence of the Administrator or functional Director/Manager.

  • Supports the fundraising activities of the organization.

  • Participates in community benefit events which enhance the visibility of St. Paul's and which benefit the community in general.

  • Attends Board, committee, management and staff meetings as necessary, required and/or requested by the President/CEO.

  • Contributes to the long range planning activity and goals for the organization. Monitors adherence to the Strategic Plan and makes recommendations for changes as necessary.

Minimum Qualifications: Possession or knowledge and/or training in long-term care administration and supervision. Should have, be working toward, or willing to enroll in program to receive a California certification in the administration of an RCFE and a skilled nursing facility.

Must be able to communicate with, be interested in, and have compassion for older adults.

Must be able to travel as required.
 

Education and/or Experience: Four-year degree in management, finance, public administration or equivalent is preferred. Advanced studies or advanced degree desired. Five years minimum in the administration/management of a long term care facility or like institution. Experience in the management of multiple facilities and functions is essential.
