As an Infrastructure UI/UX Engineer within the PNC organization, This is a remote position that can sit within the PNC footprint, although it may not be available in all jurisdictions. Certain job responsibilities may require in-person, in office activities on a regular basis

Job Description

We are looking for an Entry-level Front-end developer who is passionate about combining technology and design to create user-friendly websites.

Responsibilities:


  • Develop websites using HTML, CSS, Node.js, React.js, and Angular2+, among other tools

  • Write scalable, secure, maintainable code that powers our clients’ platforms

  • Create, deploy, and maintain automated system tests

  • Work with Testing Teams to understand defects or issues opened and resolves them in a timely manner

  • Support continuous improvement by investigating alternatives and technologies and presenting these for architectural review

  • Collaborate effectively with other team members to accomplish shared user story and sprint goals

  • Invest time into professional development to stay up to date with new technologies and programming languages

  • Debug and fix programming bugs

  • Other duties as assigned

Basic Qualifications:


  • Proficient understanding of HTML and CSS

  • Frontend web development

  • API development

  • Golang

  • Angular.js

  • Node.js

  • Python/Bash/Shell

  • Basic knowledge of code version control (e.g. Git, SVN)

  • A passion for creating pixel-perfect web pages

  • Good verbal communication and interpersonal skills

Preferred Qualifications:


  • 1 year of practical experience in Front-End Development

  • Familiarity with at least one JavaScript framework (Angular2+, React.js, Express.js)

  • Experience with unit and integration testing of code, with an understanding of JavaScript testing frameworks like Jasmine, Cucumber, Mocha, Jest, and Karma

  • Experience providing REST/SOAP APIs for user interface consumption

  • Experience working within an Agile development methodology (Scrum)

  • Experience working with C++, Java, or JavaScript

Problem Solving – Knowledge of approaches, tools, techniques for recognizing, anticipating, and resolving organizational, operational or process problems; ability to apply this knowledge appropriately to diverse situations.

Process Management – Knowledge of business process improvement tools and techniques and ability to understand, monitor, update, or enhance existing business or work processes.

Server Software – Knowledge of and ability to configure, install, and support the functions, features and facilities of multi-user operating systems to manage network resources.

System and Technology Integration – Knowledge of the features and facilities of systems, and the ability to integrate and communicate among applications, databases and technology platforms.

Systems Software Infrastructure – Knowledge of software technology, and the ability to plan global, regional and local software architecture and infrastructure components.

System Testing – Knowledge of and the ability to design, plan and execute system testing strategies and tactics to ensure the quality of software at all stages of the system life cycle.

System Testing Tools – Knowledge of and the ability to use tools and techniques for automating, simplifying and enhancing system testing.

Work Experience

Roles at this level typically require a university / college degree, with 2+ years of relevant professional experience. In lieu of a degree, a comparable combination of education and experience (including military service) may be considered.
