Greenhouse - care for plants in greenhouse. Plant, weed, fertilize, water

Assist with field research- collect plant samples, label, flag, stake

Position Summary:


Individual will provide greenhouse assistance to include potting, fertilizing, inoculating and watering plants. Individual will assist in keeping greenhouse space neat, orderly and weed free. Individual will provide assistance with basic field and laboratory research as requested to include collecting plant samples, inoculating plant samples, setting up field studies including labeling and placing flags, stakes and markers. Individual will assist with basic lab protocols including molecular virology as requested and will be responsible for basic lab maintenance and chores including washing glassware, preparing simple solutions, preparing media, autoclaving supplies and waste, taking trash to dumpster, etc.to keep laboratory space neat, orderly and clean.


Relevant/Preferred Education, Experience, Licensure, Certification in Position:


High school students with interest in plant biology; Undergraduate students with majors in plant biology, agriculture, crop and soil science; prior lab experience is preferred but not mandatory. Needs driver's license.
