Job Responsibilities:


  • Establishes policies and procedures for performance and control of all project business management functions and technical support.

  • Ensures quality standards are applied to all levels of the work and measured for effectiveness.

  • Represents the assigned NASA location at local, state, and national gatherings.

  • Has overall responsibility for Quality Control and Safety on the project. Participates in quality defects investigations and development of resolutions (corrective and preventive).

  • Monitors performance of functional managers/supervisors and submissions of required reports and contract data.

  • Promptly resolves issues associated with performance.

  • Leads the workforce in relationship-based partnering with customers to continuously improve performance and business. 

  • Serves as principal liaison between the company, NASA stakeholders on the contract and the labor unions.

  • Directs and approves contract modifications, approves budgets, monitors contractual performance and costs, and takes action to correct discrepant conditions. Has overall responsibility for P&L of the contract.

  • Maintains working knowledge of requisite business systems as they relate to the contract, including ability to implement future programs.

  • Provides guidance and direction to finance and accounting, human resources, training, security, safety, and environmental.

  • Conducts briefings and participates in meetings for internal and external stakeholders concerning specific project operations.

Minimum Qualifications: 

*An active DoD Secret clearance is required for consideration*


  • 10+ years’ experience with responsible oversight of large logistics operations support functions.

  • 10 years’ experience with regulatory compliance, including OSHA, EPA and FAR.

  • Bachelor’s degree in logistics, engineering, business, public administration and/or quantitative analysis or related skill area.

  • Developed supervisory skills with proven ability to direct customer-focused teams providing comprehensive logistics services.

  • Strong skills in MS Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Project.

  • Proven ability to manage and coordinate activities of staff engaged in planning and scheduling of logistics work.

  • Knowledge of logistics management including exposure to supply and materials management, flight hardware support operations, shipping and receiving, equipment management, moves and furniture, property and warehouse management, property disposal, transportation and motor pool, mail management, and life-cycle logistics services.

Desired Qualifications:


  • Experience on a program/contract of similar size and complexity of scope to the Logistics Support Services (MLSS) II contract (for example managing programs in excess of $15M per year and managing staff more than 100+ for federal contracts.

  • Prior experience with Union/CBA contract management and labor relations.

  • PMP designation desirable.

  • Master’s degree in Business Administration desirable.
