About us:
Zingermans Delicatessen is the flagship location for the Zingermans Community of Businesses. Weve been serving traditionally made, full flavored foods from around the world for 40 years now, and our commitment to great customer service recently earned us a James Beard award nomination for best service in the country. Our guests regularly line up all the way down the block because they know that whatever sandwich they order or chocolate bar they taste, itll most likely be the best theyve ever had.
We practice open book management, and the most frequent comment on our annual staff survey is, This is the best job Ive ever had. If you join us, youll work with a diverse group of people, many of whom plan to own their own businesses some day.

Compensation: $14-$18/hour to start (includes tips)
Full-time positions available for those looking for year round employment

Essential Duties:
You will encounter variety each and every day!Smile and talk to many guests, no matter what youre doing!Greet and assist our guests with enthusiasm and high energyBrew and converse on all brewing methods for teas and coffeesPrepare espresso based drinks (milk steaming, drink construction) according to our recipesTaste and score coffee at least once per shift, logging the resultsAdjust coffee as needed for best tasting espressoContinually improve personal skills and knowledge around coffeeHandle monetary transactions and sales using Point of Sale systemFollow opening, closing and other procedural checklistsRestock/rotate productsLearn and shares the basics of our coffee roasting process and production scheduleRecognize, acknowledge and communicates error and potential quality problemsAssist in keeping dining areas and workspaces neat, clean and sanitaryParticipate actively in huddles, meetings, and Zingerman's eventsArrive on time for all shifts, meetings, and classes

What are the shifts?
The Next Door Cafe will be open from 7AM to 7PM every day. This may change depending on business needs. Shifts begin as early as 6:00AM.Candidates with full time (32hrs+) availability preferred
