SUMMARY:


The Deposit Operations Manager provides daily support through supervision of the daily processes with the Deposit Operations and e-Banking Department to ensure complete, accurate and timely completion of activities. Responsibilities are performed under limited supervision with and governed by established policies and procedures


 ESSENTIAL DUTIES:




  • Manage and oversee daily operations of the Deposit Operations staff and reporting as needed to upper-level management.


  • Recommend, develop and monitor standardized policies and procedures to increase operational efficiency.


  • Develop and maintain a familiarization with client activity and use operational knowledge to recognize trends and uncover potential risks within the scope of departmental involvement.


  • Maintain expert knowledge on department-related responsibilities, including compliance and regulations, communicating effectively with staff and third parties as needed.


  • Carry out administration, maintenance, monitoring, reporting and oversight of various departmental functions.


  • Represent the department in various capacities, including but not limited to regulatory and compliance issues, audits, and management meetings.


  • Manage ACH operations, backing up department on tasks and ACH inquiries from clients and co-workers.


  • Manage operations, backing up department on tasks and inquiries from clients and co-workers.


  • Conduct debit card monitoring and administration of various maintenance activities including but not limited to card setup, limit increases, restrictions, disputes, research, suspicious activity tracking and follow up, and other inquiries from clients and co-workers.


  • Process wire transfers, including sending and receiving international and domestic wire transfers.


  • ATM administration



 Additional Duties and Responsibilities:




  • Work with Security Officer and ensure compliance with various regulatory agencies.


  • Participates in and completes training objectives with passing scores.


  • Follow all Riverview policies and procedures.


  • Lead or participate in project teams - including bank employees and outside vendors.



 RELATIONSHIPS:




  • Daily contact with branches/departments to provide assistance and support.


  • Periodic contact with senior and executive management for consultation.


  • Periodic contact with customers and prospective customers providing assistance.


  • Periodic contact with service bureau and vendors as a business consumer.


  • Occasional contact with members of professions with whom the incumbent must consult from time to time, i.e. attorneys, accountants, and other financial intermediaries.



 SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES


Directly supervise up to 10 or more employees, which may include area supervisors who manage other employees.  Carries out management responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.



 QUALIFICATIONS

 EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:


Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year College or university; and seven years related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.



 SKILLS



  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.

  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.

  • Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference. Ability to apply concepts such as: fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations. Solid understanding of practical algebra such as that used in electronic spreadsheets.

  • Ability to identify and solve various issues and problems and deal with a variety of variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.

  • Ability to interpret a variety of input furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

  • Ability to perform short- and long-term planning to achieve bank and department goals.

  • Solid computer skills, including proficiency using MS Office.



 PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.



 WORK ENVIRONMENT:


The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee occasionally works near moving mechanical parts and is occasionally exposed to risk of electrical shock. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
