Description:




The Nurse Manager is a registered professional nurse, proficient with the nursing process, who has 24-hour accountability, long term planning and human and fiscal resources accountability in a designated patient care area. Compliance with all regulatory groups to ensure safe, ethical, and quality patient/family centered-care.


The Nurse Manager promotes Magnet Nursing behavior within the organization and patient care area and supports various health system-sponsored programs. The Nurse Manager has 24/7 accountability to the daily operations of the unit. Partnering with an Educator or CNL to ensure that patient/family centered is achieved through the use of best practices.


Nurse Manager of a 37-bed Progressive Care Step Down Unit is comprised of patients with mixed acuity step down unit serving patients with the following needs: ear, nose and throat, neurology, medical, and surgical. The patient population is comprised of mixed acuity staffing which fluctuates to the demand step down or floor status.


The Nurse Manager promotes quality care by championing a collaborative shared governance environment driving performance patient outcomes positively. The Nurse Manager will be skilled at building supportive relationships and demonstrate empathetic consistent communication.



Position Requirements



Bachelor's Degree in nursing required; Master's Degree preferred.



Minimum Experience



3-5 years of previous job-related experience required


1-2 years progressive leadership experience preferred



Licensure/Certifications



Basic Life Support (CPR) required; Advanced Life Support (ACLS) preferred


Current Registered Nurse license State of Illinois required


Specialty certification in a clinical or functional area of nursing granted a national nursing organization preferred.
