Assists the Specialty Pharmacist in the preparation of prescriptions as permitted by state law. Serve as a resource for Kelsey-Seybold patients in navigating the specialty pharmacy process, including but not limited to obtaining prior authorization, conducting benefit investigation, and evaluating financial assistance opportunities. Maintains good customer service and helps address patient's needs. Other duties include using EPIC to gather data necessary for prescription processing, managing medication stock when necessary, and other tasks as assigned.

Salary Range: $37,668.80 to $46,529.60 (
Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, etc.
EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
(A = basics; B = preferred)
High School diploma or GED from an
Completion of Technician training program
Minimum 2-4 years of specialty or retail pharmacy technician experience
Prior authorization experience
Financial assistance counseling experience
Registered Technician with Texas State Board of Pharmacy (TSBP)
Current BLS issued by the American Heart Association
Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) certified
Operate computer terminal for processing prescriptions.
Operate Point of Sale system to process financial transactions
Experience with EPIC EHR
Data Collection - Experience documenting required clinical and demographic data necessary to appropriately process Specialty Pharmacy Claims
Communication - able to communicate with coworkers and supervisors regarding work related duties. Must have excellent customer service skills and an ability to clearly communicate information to patients.
Stress Tolerance -able to make appropriate decisions and accurately process prescriptions in a high stress environment.
