About the Team

The Content Operations & Engineering team is a close knit, dedicated group of professionals with a passion for digital content strategy, management, and design. We empower internal content creators to craft and deliver effective content consistently and at scale, with the belief that great digital products rely on great content experiences. We are a team of 7 plus members who work with cross-functional product teams to deliver high quality digital products and services at College Board.

About the Opportunity

As a Content Engineer you'll help to define the complex requirements and solutions for a newly emerging content management and delivery ecosystem at College Board. You are a key member of the Item Cloud Green product team, working alongside a diverse team of software engineers, UX/UI design and research, and a dedicated product owner, among others. Your work accelerates our efforts to produce and deliver secure, reliable digital testing at scale.

In this role, you will:

Content Strategy and Design (25%)

  • Synthesize business requirements and user needs for subject matter experts to contribute to a clear, scalable strategy for managing and deploying assessment content and data across an interconnected ecosystem of custom digital platforms

  • Design, test, and implement effective and secure digital content management solutions in collaboration with UX/UI design and software engineering

Content and Metadata Modeling (25%)

  • Map the components of highly structured assessment content and metadata throughout the delivery pipeline, ensuring alignment and data integrity from content creation to feature development to end user interaction

Content Management and Workflow (50%)

  • Contribute to the development of workflows and processes for managing and tracking the creation, delivery, and usage of assessment content over time

  • Work with the product owner and software engineering lead to translate business and user needs into prioritized functional and technical requirements for the new content management ecosystem

  • Be the voice of the assessment specialist at College Board, ensuring that content workflows, lifecycles, and supporting tools for assessment creation are scalable and sustainable

About you, You have:

  • 3-5 years' experience designing content or data models and workflows for assessment content

  • Experience working with and customizing platforms used to develop e-learning and assessment content

  • Excellent problem-solving skills, including using data to inform recommendations

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, and an ability break down complex concepts for a non-technical audience using data, words, and visualizations

  • Strong negotiation skills and a willingness to collaborate and find middle ground

  • A self-starter mentality-you enjoy getting into the weeds and untangling complex ecosystems

  • Proven ability to build relationships and influence others to action
