And through taking AP Exams, students can earn college credit and placement.


Since its 2019 launch, AP Classroom, the support platform for AP teachers and students, has become the most popular LMS in US High Schools, annually serving 160,000+ teachers and 2.8M+ students at 17,000+ schools. During the academic year, students and teachers visit AP Classroom 700,000 times per day. It supports 38 courses (and growing!) with currently a question bank over 40,000 questions and 4,400 instructional videos. The data generated by AP Classroom has provided the AP Program with tremendous insight into how American students learn: what they know and can do, where they struggle, and what they need to succeed.


The AP Program is conducting a search for an Associate Director, Content Management for AP Classroom. Teachers and students highly value and trust the instructional and assessment content within AP Classroom, and we're looking for an Associate Director, AP Classroom Content Management to support the management and delivery of new and existing course content and content-driven features.


The Associate Director will play a key role in managing this content and data across all courses, working with internal content providers to develop optimal processes for delivering and managing the content, negotiating and managing production schedules, verifying changes, and publishing changes to the production environment. You will also work with Product Owners and the AP Classroom development team to debug issues, propose enhancements, and be a stakeholder in the implementation of such enhancements.



In this role, you will:




Manage AP Daily Video and Instructional Resources (40%)





  • Configure videos in AP Classroom testing and production environments

  • Lead annual publishing effort for AP Daily Live Review Videos on AP Classroom in conjunction with the YouTube Premiers

  • Manage QA vendor to perform quality checks on new videos and address flagged issues before publishing

  • Partner with Content Product Owner (PO) and AP Instruction to develop publishing schedules, identify new scope and requirements, and maintenance of existing videos across 38 (and growing) AP courses

  • Partner with Content PO to prioritize and troubleshoot technical issues with AP Classroom development team and video production team

  • Manage publishing of instructional resource documents




Implement and Manage Course Resources (Outlines) and Framework in AP Classroom (30%)





  • Configure course frameworks in AP Classroom for new courses to support data integration with new authoring and assessment content repository platforms


  • Maintain and update the Course Resources/Outline feature of AP Classroom to support course revisions and new initiatives





Support Assessment Content, AP Classroom Feature Enhancements, and PDF Printing of Test Booklets (30%)





  • Support configuration, content publishing, and testing to support new Instructional Resources pages and functionality


  • Publish videos, question metadata, and navigation setup on Course Resources


  • Work with AP Instruction team to define Course Resource enhancement requirements, implement proofs of concept, and identify publishing improvements


  • Support paper test (PDF) generation functionality by assisting Product Owner with quality assurance testing





What you'll bring to the AP Program:





  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent preferred


  • 3+ years relevant experience working in content publishing for online delivery


  • Experience using Agile/Scrum practices, including supporting Product Owners to build new features for instructional content needs


  • Effective and clear verbal and written communication with internal partners


  • Ability to organize and manage competing projects and to complete complex tasks with many details and much data on short deadlines and in a fast-past environment


  • Strong process orientation and demonstrated ability to define, refine, and monitor efficient production processes and identify opportunities for improvement


  • Proven ability to build relationships and influence others to action


  • Experience managing relationships with internal stakeholders and third-party vendors in the quality assurance space
