Job Description:


Summary of the project/initiative


  • The successful candidate will be coordinating teams responsible for implementing new clinical delivery organizations and introducing new member / patient data into the Care Data Platform. Care Data Platform feeds multiple data warehouses within the environments.

Team Structure


  • 1 CSM / Project Manager, 3 Data Analysts, 3 Developers, 3 Quality Analysts. This candidate will interact will all levels of the technical development organization.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Manage multiple IT projects or programs with various internal and external (vendor) IT teams in a changing environment. Manage project resources across multiple IT teams in a highly matrix environment and across mix-methodology projects (agile and waterfall/iterative).

  • Manage and lead projects through entire lifecycle - initiation, planning scope, solutioning, build, testing, readiness, deployment, support, via waterfall, iterative or agile SDLC methodology.

  • Primary point of contact for technology deliverables across all impacted applications

  • Develop project plans, managing dependency and critical path artifacts, creating and reporting project status including key issues/risks and project financials, and communicating to business & IT leadership.

  • Proactively identify project issues, risks, dependencies. Develop mitigation/remediation plans and actively manage and communicate updates around these issues/risks.

  • Manage project scope and administer change management as needed.

  • Agile experience focused primarily around Scrum Master responsibilities to keep team on track with deliverables.

  • Manage and report on project financials on a weekly basis, including actuals, forecast, tracking burn-rates, variances, EACs/ETCs, earned value analysis across various financial/time reporting systems.

  • Partners closely with Agile Team to create timely weekly status reports including financials, issues/risks, and supporting details. Facilitates status meetings with involved teams and communicates to the appropriate stakeholder audiences at the appropriate level of detail.

  • Manages project status meetings and working sessions, scheduling meetings as necessary, creating & distributing meeting minutes and ensuring follow up on action items after the meetings.

  • Facilitate project /program communications including communication of technical components of initiatives to stakeholders. Coordinates and facilitates cross application meetings and working sessions including weekly progress meetings, design sessions, requirements reviews, etc. for a specific project.

  • Drives issue and risk management process to identify, facilitate, & drive resolution of project issues and risks. Escalates issues to appropriate leadership if they cannot be resolved by project manager and the team.

  • Compliance with corporate and departmental project management standards, processes and policies.


Minimum Requirements


  • 3+ years of experience leading projects focused on the execution of large-scale, complex initiatives involving creation, planning and mitigation efforts.

  • 3+ years of experience managing multiple projects concurrently with little direct supervision on a day-to-day basis.

  • 3+ years experience with team leadership while influencing geographically disbursed teams and building trust-based relationships with stakeholders.

  • Both Agile and waterfall SDLC project management experience (minimum 3 months project experience in both SDLCs).


Preferred Requirements:


  • Bachelors Degree or Equivalent work experience.

  • Project Management experience in the healthcare industry or consulting.

  • Experience managing technology product lifecycles.

  • Experience leading technology proof of concepts/pilots or technology innovation projects.

  • Budget accountability for projects/programs in the $2M range or higher.

  • Solid analytical, problem-solving and critical thinking skills.

  • Ability to influence without authority using strong communication and fact-based reasoning skills.

  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. Must be able to communicate effectively with different types and levels of audiences, including technical teams, business stakeholders, and senior leaders.

  • Must have strong relationship building, collaboration, and interpersonal skills to work in a dynamic environment with different levels of team members and leaders.

  • Must be adaptable and flexible to adapt to changing project/program needs, processes and business priorities.

  • Must demonstrate strong leadership presence and determination to move the projects and teams forward when faced with obstacles.

  • Must be an organized self-starter, with creativity and resourcefulness in overcoming project challenges.

  • Proficiency in MS Project, Power Point, Excel.
